adaliabooks: Pancakes for lunch probably, or maybe savoury pancakes for dinner... we'll see.

Not giving up anything for Lent due to the lack of religiousness.

It's a bit expensive but looks quite good. But apparently there will be more releases later, including possibly a batch of Paradox games.
avatar
ddickinson: I think a lot of people give something up for Lent, even if they are not religious. They seem to treat is as a challenge to give up something silly, a bit like New Year resolutions.

What kind of games does Paradox games usually release? (I have little knowledge of publishers/developers these days)
Not me, don't really have the will power for giving stuff up (I struggle enough with dieting to lose weight).

Paradox do a lot of different stuff, but are known for their ridiculously complicated Grand Strategy games (Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis and others).
I think they publish a few RPGs and other stuff too.

LaPtiteBete: Thanks for the kind words, DD !! and for the big comforting hug... **Bigger hug back**
Glad your Valentines day went great !! :-)) (and don't care about the haters !!)
Yes, we call it "Mardi Gras" [Fat Tuesday.... lol], and usually eat pancakes... (but I go to the restaurant with some friends this evening)... The owlet has actually eaten an entire pancake in the morning, with her nanny... She's wearing a strawberry outfit :-D (kids usually dress up at Mardi Gras)...

= "What can we do to help take you mind of things?" = <---- Just being you... awesomely kind, as usual. I so much love this place :'-)
I was only joking about the boys complaining, I know Valentines Day is not for everyone. I don;t like it becasue of the commercialised, but I still enjoy the excuse to be extra romantic. I hope you have a nice time with your friends at the restaurant. I bet the kids looks so cure all dressed up.

Well I will definitely keep being myself and doing what I can to be of some help in cheering you up. But if you ever thing of something, just let me know. *big hug*
dd, I hope I'm not one of the group you referred to yesterday who are too rough, tough and macho to be into the 'huggy' thing. My concern is, being a colossal brute of immense strength, I'd fear if I hugged you I might break your ribs, or worse still, make you fart. I know ladies don't do such things, but you'd have no choice if I gave you the old Viking squeeze-machine. I've had full grown grizzly bears run away screaming as soon as I've taken my hands out of my pockets, so its not to be trifled with, believe me.

My brothers usually use it as an excuse for a bit of friendly betting. They each pick something for the other to give up for 40 days, the winner gets the money they bet. We are not religious, they do it just for the fun, and the money. :-)

I hope that Paradox brings some games for you all to enjoy. I'm not sure they are my kind of games, I already own some Grand Strategy games, so I don't really need any more, and I have enough RPGs that I need to play so there is no point adding any more.

CarrionCrow: A little chilly due to having a lot less hair than I did yesterday, but the four cups of coffee in the last twenty minutes are starting to compensate.
No clue why the hell I'm up so early, but I'm rolling with it.
The earbleed volume techno music I just put on is helping to blast out the cobwebs.

How are you doing today?
avatar
ddickinson: Why do you have a lot less hair today? How is your muscle ache doing today?

I am doing okay. I am just doing some paperwork and waiting for a phone call from a solicitor. Nothing too exiting.
Not much in the way of pain this morning since I actually slept somewhere softer than a wooden desk. Go figure.

Much less hair today since I chopped all the hair on my head and face off.
Got tired of it annoying me by growing in an unruly manner, so it's all gone now. It was either do that or buy a hat, and I don't wear hats unless I have to. =)

Stilton: Must've been one hell of a nightmare.
-laughs- Thankfully not. The dreams I can remember are just, well, insane rather than scary.

Additional, just because I have to share this - there's a link to a Meat Boy speed run with total and full completion, every single evil rotten bastard special level, EVERYTHING, and the person does it in under 2 hours.

That game consistently beats me so hard I occasionally think I'm wearing my own ass as a hat, and the bar for serious expert status is that high...

Master Stilton. I am a 5'8" farm girl who grew up with a dad and three brothers who are all well over 6 foot tall and built like brown bears. I am more than accustomed to giving and receiving bear hugs. :-)

*bear hug, with the occasional sound of Stilton's ribs cracking* :-)

You see how much better you feel when you stop using your keyboard as a pillow. :-)

Well I can understand you wanting to shave your hair, but maybe you should have waited for the weather to get warmer. :-)

Patience isn't my strong suit. It's been 60 plus degrees F here most of the winter, but I would have still done it if it was 0.

Eyebrows too?

Good morning, Crow.

Does that mean I'm in the 'huggy' crowd, then?

Good morning to you as well. =)

Of course, we don't exclude anyone. Everyone gets hugs, whether they want them or not. :-)

Nothing wrong with a little insanity, sometimes its the only thing that keeps me sane, and that's the truth...

You don't expect me to believe that do you? You show some laudable patience with some of the games you play. I think you are a master of patience at this point. :-)

That isn't patience. That's a continued willingness to harm myself. ;)

Everything in moderation, including sanity. =)

Too much of that one will drive you mad.

Update - Hand of Fate looks kind of interesting...

How many other board/card-type games are out there? Its a format I could maybe get into...
