EndreWhiteMane: Very similar experience here except while burning a 'polyp' off the burning pedal got stuck and tried to fry my innards. Spent 2 days in hospital to be sure I was OK, very pleasant experience. Haven't been back to that hospital since.

CarrionCrow: I'd have a strong urge to sue the crap out of them for that...
I thought about it but they went very much out of their way to keep an eye on me, apologize and follow up when I got back home. Had they denied their foul up and been assholes about it I would have.
Plus, sadly one signs a disclaimer for things like that going wrong, suing probably would have cost me more than I ever would have got in return.

Stilton: Another 'back there' incident occurred in the garden when I was about ten years old. It was summer and I was wearing shorts and I sat down on the lawn, unaware that a wasp had done the same thing a second before in the exact same place. The pain was enough to make sure I got back up faster than Superman.
Still kind of wondering what a wasp sting feels like. Haven't ever had one. But from your description, it sounds thrilling. =)
