ElTerprise: I'm pretty sure that this is just statistics - actually i'm sure with a propability of 95% :P

ElTerprise: With all that randomness i forgot that question ^^
Actually i think i'll give one of the Endless games a try and i'm going to play Day of the Tentacle :)
What are the Endless games? I know Moon really likes Day of the Tentacle, at least the old one, I am not sure about the remake. It is not a game I have played or own, so I can't say wither way about it.

avatar
CarrionCrow: That sounds just lovely...
I'm sorry you're not feeling well.

No need to apologize. =) Getting ready to take a nap here, finally getting sleepy.
Thank you. I am sure I will be fine after some sleep.

So you are finally going to get some sleep for once, that is good to hear. I hope you can manage a nice long and restful nap.

CarrionCrow: Oh, Steam's definitely got problems too. There are similarities between them and GOG. Big difference is, with all the games Steam has, people are much more willing to get used to it, see the crap as standard operating procedure.
So you're saying the solution for GOG is to accelerate their growth? :)
avatar
ElTerprise: It's apparently a game where you date tanks - i guess everythings possible then ;)
You would be absolutely right. =)
World War 2 tanks from different countries, specifically.

CarrionCrow:
As much as I'd love to "watch" you play it in thread here, I already feel partially responsible for you playing one anthropomorphic dating game and I'll be damned if I carry the guilt for two.

Or, they could both stop being crap in their different ways, put more time on to fix all the broken bits.
Either way. ;)

What? That's part of my studies :)

It's a series of games by Amplitude which are apparently all set in the same universe. It's a Space-4x (Endless Space), a 4x (Endless Legend and rogue-like (Dungeon of the Endless). Would love to see them here but unfortunately that doesn't seem very likely which is why i rented them in GabeN's realm :)

Haven't played the old one (or any of the old Lucas Arts adventures) - and i'm curious about it.

I hope you get to feeling better so you can get some time away with your partner and have some fun, that being sick doesn't screw it all up.

Thank you, D. =)

I'm not even starting to question the storyline :P

Well which option seems more likely? Exactly ;)

I don't think it's the same thing. I've seen a little of it played. No visceral revulsion and desire to kill something when I saw it. It'd probably be disappointed as a spectacle. -laughs-

Additional - Time to sleep. Have a good afternoon/evening, everyone. =)

You said you weren't buying much. Spend 5 dollars and check it out yourself, then tell us what you think. =)

-laughs- I think it's more likely that I'll grow wings out of my ass so I can fly to Antarctica whenever summer heat gets me down. ;)

You study to be a nerd? And here I was thinking you were born into it. :-)

Ah, I have heard of some of those games, but still don't own any of them. I know some are quite popular and people really seem to love them.

I have played a few Lucas Arts titles here, and I still have a few left to go. I maybe would have gotten Day of the Tentacles if it was here as the Lucas Arts version. But I am not a fan of Double Fine, so I won't ever be getting the remake, or any of their games for that matter.

Ixamyakxim: No more Knock, Knock ;)

How is this one by the way? I was super excited for it on first release and every time I've passed on it since I've found it more and more easy to talk myself out of it. I talked myself into thinking it's probably just a click-on-icon fest, where I then build exactly the same stuff but in different order, to the same end. Should I be grabbing it next time it comes around?
Nope, finally finished it :-) I think... It didn't tell me that I won or lost, but the credits started rolling in the middle of a level. *shrug*

This War of Mine is pretty good. It is the least-glorious "war game" I have ever played, which is something quite different and welcoming to me. But it is difficult to really call it a "war game", since you are controlling civilians instead of soldiers. It is really a survival game, that takes place in the middle of a war. The atmosphere is quite good, and there is a constant feeling of desperation. There are a lot of difficult decisions - like whether you let a person in your shelter starve to death, or try to steal and possibly kill other civilians for food. But killing other civilians might send your own survivors into a depression... Do you sell the much-needed supplies to afford a bandage for your wounded guy... No easy decisions.

However, like you said, it is a bit of a click-on-icon fest :-p It does get a bit repetitive after a while. It's usually the same routine every day - which I guess could be said is realistic? I dunno.

Overall, I like it. I'm not sure whether to call it "fun", but it is interesting, gripping, and decently challenging.

The remake is quite nice in my opinion and you can change completely to the classic style for nostalgics :D

I am hoping it is just due to the lack of sleep. My partner decided to have an early night after her busy day, and I was hoping to join her, but with how I am feeling at the moment I don't think I would be able to sleep anyway. But I am getting more tired, so hopefully in a few hours I will be feeling a little better and will be able to get some nice sleep ready for my trip to the coast. Providing we are able to go. Not a big loss if not, but it would still be nice to get away for a few days.

*jumps as the ninja Moonshine sneaks up behind me wearing her Day of the Tentacle t-shirt*

Were you just lurking there waiting for some Tentacle talk? o_O

I am glad you like the remake as well. I am just not really a fan of the developer, or the guy in charge, so me being stubborn means I won't be getting their games. Not that I mind really, I have way too many to play as it is.
