The exam went fine. Nothing exploded, I've still got all my limbs 'n fingers and my nerves have settled down after taking my pills...

Now only wednesday remains...

They're rereleasing skyrim, updating nought but graphics? Isn't that like the single thing the game wasn't lacking in that they are now improving leaving the rest out to wallow in mediocrity even further behind?

That's of no use to me, I can hardly run the game in a 640*480 window on lowest all with slight lag :D

j0ekerr: I played a bit of Outlast recently, I thought it was trying a bit too hard to do jump scares.
A bit more subtlety would have served it better.
This was my thought on it too. It was very jump scary and initially oozed atmosphere. And it had all these really neat mechanics (the parkour) and gorgeous visuals, but 9 times out of 10 the gameplay boiled down to "run aimlessly until the scary bump is gone or you guess where you're supposed to hide. Probably reload 4 times before you find it."

Amnesia was almost the exact opposite for me. The mechanics seemed very simple (just walk and light your torch) but the gameplay was fantastic, the puzzles and exploration totally fun and the whole ride just great from start to finish.

CarrionCrow: Hey there. =)

Oh yes, I have the original. Played it for around 100 hours before I finally couldn't bullshit myself into playing anymore.

Grumbling at the general re-release garbage. More so in Skyrim's case because it's talking about being prettier, but nothing about bugs, or a shitty interface, or problems with combat, or magic being a joke compared to melee, or any of the rest of it.
But, it does have "you can get PC mod-type things on consoles". You mean console owners can now play a game that's screwed up enough that 99 percent of people feel mods are required to enjoy it in the right way now, you lazy greedy scumfucks? -facepalm-
Ah i see... as long as you own all DLC you'll get the re-release for free ;)

Well it's the easy way. I don't mind re-releases in general - but they should offer a bit more than being more shiny....
And i agree. In case of Skyrim they have enough stuff to fix - i mean the unofficial patches for it are basically mandatory to make the game playable without having to tweak quests via console....

"Skyrim Special Edition also brings the full power of PC mods to consoles." ... Why the living pluck does it say that... on Steam?
I assume they just copypasted that text :)

Which shows approximately how much they give a sh*t about the PC version :-p

Well either that or general laziness ;)

The standard UI in their games should already give enough of a clue.
Good evening, lovely people of Fred!

Since my partner is off helping to deliver a baby (horse), or at least making the mother comfortable, I figured I would enjoy this lovely cold wind and enjoy some reading while chatting to the lovely people of Fred in-between. I hope you have all been behaving yourselves? :-)

*hugs, waves, and cookies!*

akhliber: Just cutting in to say that I happen to be *quite* interested in "Baby's First Horror Game." It may be the first one I actually play to completion! ;)
Dark Fall is listed as a horror game, yet I did not really find it scary. So that might be a good game to start with. It does have a nice atmosphere, and the story was interesting, but I did not really think it was scary or a horror game.

Good evening. =)

Just got back from the store, now I'm reinstalling Geometry Dash for the 10th time, because I'm an idiot.

See, this is why games should be physical. If it was I could come over and destroy your edition of Geometry Dash and save you from the horror of it. :-)

Good evening. Has the weather calmed down for you, or is it still very hot there?

Hey there! Thanks, I'm not familiar with this one, so I'll have a look at some vids and such. I appreciate the recommendation! :)

*hugs everyone, takes a handful of cookies and runs*

If it was a physical copy, I'd save you the cost of a plane ticket and tear it to pieces myself. ;)

It was better for a couple days, now it's getting hotter again. The joys of desert hellhole summer.

It is this one: https://www.gog.com/game/dark_fall_the_journal

It is a bit like Myst in how you navigate from screen to screen. It is an adventure game for the most part, with you trying to uncover a mystery. There are some annoying parts, but overall I really enjoyed it. I played the first 2, and both were fun, although the second one went a bit out there with the story. If the game does catch your eye, by all means let me know as I have an old key for the game (and the second one) that you would be more than welcome to have. They have a nice atmosphere, and a bit of a spooky feel, but I did not find them horror. There are a few pixel hunting type parts where you can miss things, but overall a nice oldish game.

Fair enough. But maybe next time just don't but a terrible game, then you won't have to play it. :-)

Are sandstorms worse in the summer months or the winter months?

I'm more than a bit bored with this sale. It's basically nothing more than a waiting game. There's no thrill of the hunt in it for me.

I played very very little. But there was a point, very early at the beginning, where I was walking towards the unlit part of the corridor with the ominous background ran in crescendo. At some point I stopped in the middle of the hallway waiting for something to happen. But all that happened was that the almost obnoxiously loud music held its note forever.
At which point I realized that the game was not trying to be subtle about it, but hammering the player about how spooky it was.

Oh, and Crow keeps torturing himself with sharp triangles.
