adaliabooks: My my you've all been busy today!

That took a lot of catching up.

Stilton's back! Hey Stilton good to see you. Sorry to hear about your troubles :(

Stilton: Woo-hoo, adalia, how are things in a coding-huge-sprawling-story-world-of-worlds-that's-likely-to-go-on-forever kind of way? And thank you for your your warm thoughts - its surprising how much of a difference it makes when my favourite avatars start send good wishes ;-)

CarrionCrow: Yay for being done with errands.

There's something strangely poignant about going to a landfill on Valentine's Day...-laughs-
avatar
Stilton: Hee-hee-hee-hee.... ;-) Was it because of an extraordinarily large quantity of vomit searching for daylight?
I definitely liked the whole before-and-after, it used to be valuable but in the end it's just more trash feeling I got from going there. =)

-laughs- I'm avoiding the whole thing and no one around me gives a shit, so it's relatively easy to dodge all together.

moonshineshadow: No game at the moment. Reading a book ;-)
avatar
TwilightSparkle456: Yah. That's pretty cool at the moment I am reading Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
I think I'm reading some other book as well....I have this habit of starting a book while in the middle of another one and getting neither of them finished.
I think that means you're a genius...

Not too bad, still just plodding along. Still trying to perfect the world generation so it makes natural looking worlds that also have good features for the game.

We have missed our Viking chieftain, the clan hasn't done any raiding without you ;)

Too busy getting flabby and playing games, I expect. Well, luckily the raiding season doesn't start until early Spring, which gives us plenty of time to sharpen our weapons and hone our skills. Or hone our weapons and sharpen our skills, or did I mean -- ah, forget it. Didn't someone order pizza? Anyone recommend a good game, please?

Well, crap...was going to check your library for games that come to mind, but it's not showing on your page.

All present and correct. My page has been looked at 1,208 times - how come?

That's much better, thank you. =)

As for the page views....popularity? ;)

Let's see...Anvil of Dawn, Arcanum, Baldur's Gate 2, Banner Saga, Darwinia, Freespace, Escape Goat, Fallout Tactics, Gemini Rue, Hotline Miami, Icewind Dale 1 & 2, Jade Empire, Legend of Grimrock, Lone Survivor, Nox, Papers Please, Resonance, Sanitarium, Shadowrun and Shadowrun Dragonfall, System Shock 2 and Uplink all come to mind.

Now, the fun part - narrowing that mass of digital goodness down a bit.
What are you in the mood to play?

From the ones Crow listed I would decide on Legend of Grimrock. Great game! :D

Popular? Moi? I'm more like a case of the shits, which incidentally is what the shieldmaiden told me shortly after we met and I said I felt she had deep and mysterious pools of burning unrequited love within her bosom just waiting to be aroused by my ardent attention.

Okay, getting serious about games. Let me read that list....

Need to restart that one. Didn't know what I was doing, got myself stuck in one hell of a corner. -laughs-

I really liked it, part of it because the graphics reminded me a lot of Lands of Lore 1. The second one was also quite good, it had the nice change that lot of stuff happened on the outside not only dungeon.
Yay, sudden errands! Damn it...

Off-hand, I'd suggest Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall if you haven't played them before.

Returns is decent, Dragonfall is pretty excellent, and they're both a nice change of pace from the usual fantasy-RPG type thing.

Be back in a bit. =)
Right, using CC's list as a guide I've whittled it down to either The Banner Saga, Legend of Grimrock, Papers Please, Shadowrun Returns or Uplink.

Having only played one of them, Papers Please, I'd suggest against that one... couldn't see what the hype was about with it really and found it to be pretty mediocre. I didn't really see the whole moral side of it, if you did something wrong (like letting someone in or turning them away when you shouldn't have) you get penalised for it so it's not like your even given a chance to cover things up or anything. It's just like a spot the difference game against the clock...

The Banner Saga and Shadowrun Returns are both on my list of things to get though so I'd go for either of those.

*Still voting for Legend of Grimrock* :D
