AgentBirdnest: Good Gog...
The answer is : YES. People should play whatever the hell they want :-p
I feel oddly threatened even if only by the knowledge that I share a planet with these dolts...

But having religious fruitcakes strutting arround on their hind legs does give you something good to laugh at. As long as they don't get any political input, or guns, or a large swathe of the Middle east. Then things grow a bit more disturbingly gruesome.

All the more reason to redicule them in places where they don't pose an active threat... :D

And I'm so happy I decided to pass on the overpriced homeworld rerelease! I got my ancient boxed copy running again! *odd victory dance*

j0ekerr: Good moaning.
Git moaning to you too!

I really hate how the local library doesn't have the latest seasons of "allo 'allo :(

anyway, Freespace is a nice game, although I've only played part of the second. It's resting quietly in my backlog for now...

What?! Come on Agent, don't tell this is the first exposure you've had to the insanity that is Jack T. Chick and his Chick Tracts.
The man is famous because of his insanity, double standards and pathetically weak argued fundie comics. They're a riot, here enjoy yourself.
Oh, and here's the tract that became a movie.
But my all time favorite is this one.

Funnily, Caucasian folk dances are about the only dances I manage to appreciate. I find wriggling your body in odd ways to be a general waste of time. Especially if you work hard on "perfecting" it. It also looks stupid, mostly.

The Sacré is also fun though...

The music in that clip is atrocious though. I prefer Khachaturian's take on the dance.

Hehe, grand.

And on the other side of things totaly abhorrifying...

I think I just heard myself getting stupider :-| It sounds like Rice Crispies.
I need some ice cream...

superstande: ;)
Thanks.
Ah, yeah...
Hope you find an interesting game to play from the library!

Hey, we should do a kickstarter for you to get a brand new pc so you'd have no limits techwise :)
Not sure how it works when there's nothing to give back :D
Might do one for myself too :P
Or we could ask the more creative people (than me) like Owl and Agent to draw badges and stuff as rewards :)
I'm sure I will. Have been looking at games, one that caught my eye is called Ghost 1.0.
It's only on the rental service for now, but I saw a comment from the developer saying they intend to provide it in other places once any bugs that pop up have been taken care of.

Also, I saw a message from a different developer saying that 999 is coming to Steam. I'm both anticipating and dreading that.

-laughs- That's okay. Couldn't take money from friends for a new computer. Not to mention I need to make sure the electrical here can handle a seriously powerful setup without breakers popping.
I love being a moron in games. I got to day 5 in This War of Mine without building a single object for my shelter. Because in the craft menu, I mixed up the required/have numbers. I thought 10/26 wood (to build a bed) meant that I only have 10 of the required 26 wood. Turns out 10 is required, and 26 is what I have.
Shouldn't it be the other way around? :-|

Yes, it should. How they did it is confusing.

Validation \o/

In any case, it wouldn't be as bad as the time I got to chapter 10 (out of 15) in NOLF 2 without realizing that my skill points could be spent to improve my skills.
I'd never played an RPG before. I thought skills points were just for keeping score :-p

-laughs- I once played an RPG called Arcana for the SNES. I didn't have the manual because it was a rental, so I had no clue that the shop menus extended further than the first few items shown on-screen.
Pretty sure I muttered, "You've got to be fucking kidding me..." at the time when I realized it.

Just a quick "hello, Fred!" before we head out to take Sarge to the vet for some usual petstuffs. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

Now I'm starting to wonder if I'm still unaware of important features in some of the games I've played :-p

Same to you, Mr Ballerina Man :-) Good luck to the little guy.

Put a game on. Relieve boredom and lower your backlog at the same time. =)

I can tell you right now - yes. Yes you are. You need to go back and replay every game you've beaten until you find all the secret parts.
