adaliabooks: Is Hearthstone any good? I've always loved collectable card games, Pokemon cards and Warcry (based on Warhammer) were both great, but I only ever really had my brother to play against when we both still lived at my parents. Plus it was really difficult to get Warcry cards in Ireland.
I'm not sure I'd have the time (or inclination) to devote to it, but if it was any good I might give it a try.
trentonlf: I have never played it personally, but I did see someone win a five or six figure payday in a tournament for the game so it must be popular somewhere ;) I'm not sure I'd have the time (or inclination) to devote to it, but if it was any good I might give it a try.
DOTA 2 didn't create them, but it has cemented the concept of "super gamers" or competitive professional players, Making videogames a lot more like professional sports. There's the fun silly ball game you play with your friends, and then there's the very serious games of the premier league. DOTA has done a lot for stablishing competitive gaming as a viable professional venue outside Korea.
And I hate it for that.
