I haven't bought it either, I was hoping you'd know. Looks like a Catch 22.

Welcome back :D
And while I like gog getting new stuff no need for you to abstain from the forums just to make gog do it, we have time and can wait so come here more often ;-)
I'm just beginning to like the surprise I have whenever I check in.

AgentBirdnest: Good to see you again Leo! How are things?
All is well! How you guys on US are managing the cold? I see some news from time to time telling about all the snow you're getting.

adaliabooks: To be honest I'm still not sure I'm comfortable with virtual hugs... :/
I'm in the same boat.

LeoLR: Interesting things happens on GOG when I stay out for a couple of weeks.
Perhaps I should log out and come back next month. Maybe then we'll have Homeworld, Freelancer and others here. :-)

Hello everyone!
Hey there little Brazilian birdy! Long time not seen, what have you been up to?

Serious question. What is it about virtual hugs that makes you uncomfortable?

Hey Hyper! This year started busy so I didn't come here as much as I would like.

avatar
tinyE: Okay so all of our guest just cancelled which leaves my night open.

Does the Mortal Kombat have MP and if so who wants to be the first to get their sorry ass "Radonized" by yours truly? :D
avatar
moonshineshadow: Good question. If is has multiplayer that we can make working I would consider buying them :D
The reviews on MK game page says these are the DOS version. Would be possible to setup multiplayer in this case?

CarrionCrow: I started playing it a while back, but got so frustrated that I gave up.
A few months passed, and I found that I really wanted to get that into the beaten games pile, so I went back to it.

I can certainly see why you'd stop playing.

The bottom line is, Meat Boy really isn't a great platforming character, and the collectibles aspect isn't that good, either.
When you've got items that are so small you can barely see them, combined with warps that fade out and glitch levels that appear on random runs, it all feels like the designers want you to keep running the same rounds again, and again, and again, and again.
The two mindsets of "hell yeah, I just managed to beat this by the skin of my teeth with half a second remaining" and "let's linger and pixel hunt through death trap after death trap" don't go together well at all.

And when it comes to actually controlling the main character, it's like trying to control an epileptic in a warehouse full of strobe lights. Doable, but it's going to get very ugly in the meantime.
You end up having to fight with everything. To get A+'s, you can't ever stop running. But running will get you killed 100 times more.
Wall slides, wall jumps, frigging jumps in general, for every good thing you can do, it's still guaranteed that those exact things will get you killed literally thousands of times.

Also, yes, I do have a place to sleep that isn't my desk. I just stay up until I have no energy left at all, so I end up using my keyboard as a pillow.
I couldn't have described it better. I thrill just in remembering it... >__<
I'm also used to go to bed when I have no more energy at all... I understand... !!

Nth personal, it's the way my brain works - somehow the image of an owl, a soldier, a moonshine, a veteran Viking, a Battle Sister and a couple of other entities hugging me, sometimes all at the same time, has something a bit unsettling about it. :-)

*shivers*

EDIT: Hahaha, see? Now DD deemed it fitting to bring in a Fist Puncher too.

I guess we'd need a frantic Insomnia Sale to lure you in. ;-)

Question for you all: Can you please help me figure out a way to limit someone's internet/wifi access?

This is not for someone who uses this computer, so it needs to be by device. (In fact, I need it for multiple devices.)

I have a Netgear modem/router that does not allow a guest network. It also apparently only allows one filter per MAC address, which is less than helpful when I need the person to be able to access the wifi from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It won't allow me to do something like "block from 2:30 p.m. until 11:30 a.m." because that violates its internal logic.

I'm at my wits end* because I'm trying to get a family member to get off their ass, stop wasting their time online all the time, and actually go get a job and become a participating, functional member of the household. The three hours a day of internet access was the compromise so that they could use online job searches. (I know, I know. But.)

* The fact that I'm also fighting with the state's ACA website to actually TELL ME what else they need before the enrollment deadline (which is Sunday) is not helping. I've called, I've emailed, I've looked up support... I can't figure this thing out.

ok I can understand that :D I do not have much imagination so for me there is only some nice feeling of support. I guess if I was getting an image like you I would also be uncomfortable.
