Oh my, another BYOB with P&C adventures?

Unfortunately it has nothing I want.

The fallout bundle has a rather tepid discount, specially when compared to former promos.

I blame Bethesda.

And I stubbed my toe.

I blame Bethesda for that too.

Good evening, lovely people of Fred!

I hope you are all having a nice Tuesday?

CarrionCrow: I get the feeling Outlast 2 won't be bad. Could be wrong, but that's the gut response to it.

Would chalk that up to people being unwilling to even take the time to research their own religion. Panic and outrage are easier than thinking.

I played the old Resident Evil titles, this is my first time playing 4. It's got action, but it does also retain a good atmosphere and general survival horror elements. I've got a couple guns, but I'm also getting nervous about how low my ammo is running...
I think many just ho on what the movies say, and many movies go for the while upside down cross = satanic stuff. I wonder why they don't just stick to the kind of imagery in the Goetia, at least that is references demonic entities and would fit a lot better. But I guess they wanted a more recognisable image, even if it is incorrect.

I have heard that Resident Evil 4 was an okay game, that is was kind of the cross over game where the series changes from survival horror to generic action game. Is number 4 the one set in Africa? I know that one had some backlash after being accused of racism in relation to the black zombies in Africa, but I am not too sure about the details.

ElTerprise: Never really liked it....cannot even tell you why that it :)

Well some of those have and api.gog.com address which makes them more likely than others. Something like Dwarves should be pretty certain though because i backed it and chose a GOG-Key when asked :)
I guess you are just weird. :-)

But can they guarantee a GOG key if the game is not even finished? What if they made the game and GOG says no, or did GOG okay the game even before it got funded?

omega64: They might be waiting until release for that one.
avatar
superstande: Yeah. And I do hope there's not going to be an in-development era for Crawl that takes another 2 years :P
Don't know has it been that long, but sure feels like it to me.
EA release 6 Aug, 2014.
So close.

I still haven't finished RE4.
Kept dying to catapults at a certain part. :(

Anybody in for making a birthday party for Crawl on that date? :P

Good Evening, Lady of the Mighty Isles!

Kinda exhausted but happy. Probably getting paid tomorrow so gonna leave the whole sale thing for later.
Good thing there are five more days to go apparently.

Hope your Tuesday is/was magnificent!

I haven't played or even seen footage of RE4.
That is intentional, to avoid suffering a brain aneurysm.

Good evening, seller of soup from the land of the Moomins! :-)

Glad to hear you are happy today. It is nice that the sale is stacking up so that you have chance to wait to be paid. Have you seen many games that caught your eye?

My Tuesday has been good, thank you.

Might be ;)

Well i guess that's up to the devs / publishers and GOG - not sure about that but it's the same with other kickstarted games before. Not sure how that works - but the devs already have some games here. The Dwarves is made by KING Art who developed The Book of Unwritten Tales, The Raven and Battle Worlds Kronos.

Ah, that might explain it. GOG seems to let on games from publishers already here without much problem. I don't think I know the Dwarves game, but hopefully it will be as good as you hope when it gets here.

Yep. Indeed. The game is based on a fantasy novel is going to be an RPG. I hope so too :)

Would say you're right on that one. People will keep going with what they think they know, rather than shooting for accuracy.

4 is the one that began the shift towards heavier action. But, from everything I've heard along with my own playing so far, it still has a balance between action and suspense/survival horror-type stuff.

5 and 6 are really the ones that took any kind of balance and threw it out the window. The further along the series has gone, the more they've turned into standard action games, to the point of zombies having guns in 6.

5 is the one set in Africa, and yes, they had people complaining because they had Africans running around in headdresses like stereotypical tribesmen, throwing spears at the character.

4 is set in Spain, but the general locations look like a bleak craphole in a forest in eastern Europe.

Interesting. I will have a closer look at it sometime.

That is true, I can understand them doing it, and I am sure most people are not even aware of it being anything but a demonic symbol.

Is 4 the game where Leon is suddenly working for the President? That is one of the things that put me off with the games, how everything just got blown out of proportion. I am not sure how to explain it, but it had a feeling of realism at the start, it was on a small scale with regular characters (and yes, I know that is silly to say given it is a game about zombies), but the later games just got silly.

But is it stereotypical when such tribes do still exist? Could it not be seen as showing off African culture? But it is a tricky subject given the culture we live in these days. It is hard not to offend someone no matter what you do, which is why so many games stick to white male characters, because they are often scared to try different ethnicities and genders.

Yes, at the beginning of 4, Leon is working for the president and trying to find the president's daughter.
Capcom's storytelling is...not good. They make the story bigger and bigger, but not better.

I don't think it's racist to have people from different countries/cultures/whatever to shoot in the face. I play games and I hate losing. As such, I don't give a shit what they look like, they're just enemies.
But, as you said, plenty of people are looking for reasons to get offended.

Spexico.
It rustles my jimmies.

So I was looking around in youtube and I noticed that fat youtube geimz-kritik Jim Sterling had a video on an Aliens Colonial marines mod, which changes the game from utter nauseating fermented shite to being merely bad and even manages to make some parts of it enjoyable (or so he claims).
Then he mentioned that there's a big sale on Aliens paraphernalia because it's Alien anniversary day.

And the full complete version of Alien Isolation is discounted 75%.

WHAT DO I DO?!!!

I'm not usually bothered by my housemates, but given that one of them invited ten people and they have now burst into loud, drunken singing while I'm trying to work on my thesis, I'm not exactly pleased. -__-
