adaliabooks: I've played demo's of the Lego games on my 3DS and wasn't hugely impressed, but they always get good reviews and are supposed to be a lot of fun.
j0ekerr: HERESY! BLAM! Don't go around comparing a 3DS game to the big systems version.
Seriously though, what I'd played was supposed to be the same as the main games just in a more cut down form and it didn't appeal. Not saying I wouldn't try them again, but I can't see them being my cup of tea. But nice to see them here and DRM free anyway.
ddickinson: Lucky you. I read part of the first one, but didn't like it. I heard from friends about the later books and from what I was told it was definitely not something for me. I'm also not a fan of the author herself, but that's not really important.
Considering it was always touted as a way to get kids into reading and I had been reading proper books since I was 8 I never saw the appeal... I had been reading proper fantasy for years when they became big and they never appealed. I've seen bits of the movies and they were ok but nothing special. True story; one of the first fantasy books I ever read was Tales of the Bard by an Irish author Michael Scott and there was a scene where the main character sneaks into the palace through a secret entrance in a brothel. Only being 7 or 8 I didn't know what that meant, so I asked my Mother XD
Credit to her, she explained it to me.. :)
EndreWhiteMane: Already own Bastion, nothing much else there for me. I would buy Lego Indiana Jones if it were here.
Have you played Bastion? Is it any good? Never heard of it before, but it looks nice. Not sure whether to wishlist it or not :)

I only read it to pass some time while I was at a friends house. She had it for her daughter to read and I just picked it up briefly while I was waiting for my friend to get ready. I'm like you, I have been reading proper novels for years. I don't think the Harry Potter books would bother me so much if they were not held as some of the greatest ever. I mean really, that's what people are classing as great works of literature these days? How the hell is that series the biggest selling series of all time, with over 450 million copies sold? Just goes to show you how susceptible people are to be part of the crowd.True story; one of the first fantasy books I ever read was Tales of the Bard by an Irish author Michael Scott and there was a scene where the main character sneaks into the palace through a secret entrance in a brothel. Yeah, that annoys me too. Same with 50 Shades of Grey (bleugh) and Twilight... you can get millions of people to read trash like that but try and get them to read a classic like LoTR or the Discworld books and they wouldn't want anything to do with it... it's sad :(EndreWhiteMane

That's the thing though. Most of the people buying books like Harry Potter, Twilight, etc, very few of them actually read the books, they just buy them. They buy them to fit in and pretend to be cultured. When in fact all they do is see the movie. Take Lord of the Rings, an awesome book(s) by an incredible author. But the movies missed so much out and changed a lot of things, and made the story worse overall. The movies themselves are okay for what they are, but they are nothing compared to the books, too much was changed and altered (although no where near as bad as what I hear Jackson did to the Hobbit). It's surprising how many people will say they own the books, but yet have no clue about a lot of what went on, because it's not shown in the films. I bet if you were to ask how many of those 450 million Harry Potter books sold had actually been read, then less than 10% would probably be able to say yes.

Not sure, never played any of them. I'm also not a shooter or Harry Potter fun, so will have to think about putting any of the new releases on my wishlist.
Glad there was no surprise sale, and hope that nth tempting will be in the weekend promo - bills ate a considerable amount at the beginning of the month, and more will be due by the end of it, so I practically have no gaming budget.
Halle Berry does not need a tight outfit, leather or not, she's got natural beauty and undeniable sex appeal.

True. I agree about the LoTR movies, although I have to say I love them as Fantasy movies but they just don't touch the books. What they did to Faramir at the end of the second movie is what really annoyed me...
Hobbit is the same, the movies are good action fantasy movies but they are so unlike the book it's ridiculous.

And am very disappointed it's not included in the GOG release. Kind of expected though, it's on Bandcamp.

Well you just be sure to share what games might be catching your eye. You never know what the gaming fairy will give you. :-) HypersomniacLive: Halle Berry does not need a tight outfit, leather or not, she's got natural beauty and undeniable sex appeal.

I agree, as I said, the movies are okay for what they are, but they did not do the books justice, IMO. As fantasy movies go, they were good films, just not quite the quality of Tolkiens work. I remember when I was at university, getting into an argument with a lecturer about who the "hero" of the LOTRs was. He thought he was such the expert, and kept arguing that it was Frodo, Gandalf, or Aragorn. I agree about the LoTR movies, although I have to say I love them as Fantasy movies but they just don't touch the books. Do you know who the hero of the books were? Strangely enough, my opinion was the same as Tolkiens, which really annoyed the lecturer when I showed him an article by Tolkien explaining who the hero was. But I am curious to know if you can guess, if you don't already know the answer.
It seems that extras such as soundtracks are becoming a thing of the past on GOG, sadly.
