Okay...I just tasered a skinhead as they tried to throw a birthday cake with a swastika drawn on it in frosting at me.

Given that, I can no longer in good conscience make fun of Fist Puncher anymore.

It's got flaws, to be sure, but it's also surprisingly enjoyable. =)

I'm glad you clarified that, I thought you'd just chosen a really unusual way to celebrate the 10,000th post XD

I'm currently playing your very generous gift of Massive Assault. It's a bit of an odd game, not quite like anything I've played before. It's quite tactical as your resources and units are limited and each one has a set move distance and damage so it's all about weighing up which enemy unit to take out first, whether it's worth putting you unit in the line of fire, what to spend your limited funds on.
The scenarios (just short set piece battles) are quite good for playing when you've only got a few minutes and don't want to get heavily involved in something.
With all the hugs around here we'd all be squashed to death in RL.
Which is a pretty good way to go. :-)

Sounds interesting, thank you for mentioning it.
I like the sound of a more self-contained strategy game, one that's in contained pieces like that.

It's got good things to balance out the crappier samey bits....I'd like to see what the developers would do with a sequel, but odds are that will never materialize.

Had to mentally edit on the fly. =)
That's okay. I am just glad we managed to pull it off and get you the 10,000th post.

EndreWhiteMane: Not at all, I was going to suggest it since you were on top of things before I woke up. actually I'm not really awake yet I don't think, it's just now 05:00 here. :-)
That's my wake up time. But why are you not tucked up in bed with those Mormon nurses? I have to get up that time for work, but you should be enjoying a nice sleep.

avatar
adaliabooks: You crazy Americans, what are you all doing up at that time? It's just passed 11am here and I'm only barely up... (and that is a minor miracle)
I have been up once 5am, so over 6 hours so far.

A huge bear hug? That sounds like the kind my father loves to give. You can't beat a big bear hug. :-)

I go to bed pretty early so 5 is a pretty normal time for me to get up.
You seem to survive on about 4 hours sleep a night, I can't even come close to doing that anymore.

There's no building buildings or upgrading or anything like that. You have territories which get a certain amount of income a turn for so many turns, when you get invaded you can raise guerilla troops (basically a one off free income boost) but as long as there are enemies in your territory you can't buy units there. So it's all about keeping your territories free so you can replace your units while blocking up your enemy's.
It reminds me a little of Risk, though I'm not quite sure why. It is quite fun though :)

I have always been able to get buy on about 4/5 hours sleep. But I guess that is due to the environment I live in and grew up in. If you are used to waking up early, then your body adapts to that. I do sleep in more on a Sunday, but that's just because I like to wake up with my partner at least one a week, as most days I'm up and out hours before my partner is up.

Maybe they don't want to waste the day asleep. I would hate sleeping too much and missing out on the day. I think it was the last insomnia sale, it seems to have affected so many of the members here. :-)

This still makes me laugh... My Mormon missionary friend actually is a nurse, so I think of her every time this is mentioned XD
