Stilton: For the time being, this is Stilton the Viking signing off...
:'-(
I hope things work out for you... and that you'll be alright.
I've missed seeing you around here, and will miss you even more... You were one of the founders of our little group here, and have always been a joy to chat with. I remember you helping me out and giving me support quite a few times when I was down over the last year and a half. Thanks again for all of that... I haven't, and won't forget it. You're one of the shiniest gems here.

Anyway... I'm getting all emotional on ya... Just take care of yourself, Stilly. And whatever happens, don't forget you've got a group of people that care about you here and always want the best for you. I really hope you'll be around again in the future. We'll keep your seat warm :'-)

Very well said. *big hug*
Pretty absorbing life that doesn't allow you 60 seconds a month to let your friends know how you're doing.
Ah well.

Yes it is and is in my cart waiting for a few more reviews to trickle in before I leap. ;)

You might want to wait a few days, give them time to start rolling out patches. It's not unplayable but it's got bugs, I think.

That's what I've been getting, that's why I want to get a few more results in.

Judging by Crow's comment you made a good choice. It is getting really sad that developers can't do their job and make decent release builds, especially on older games where much of the system is already there.
Oh cool. Looks like Firewatch is coming to GOG. It has an entry in the upcoming tab :)

I fancied trying that game, but sadly my graphics card VRAM is not quite up to the 1GB recommendation. But nice to see it here, even if yet again they do the usual thing of making as many sales as possible on Steam and then come to GOG as an after thought. I guess they will think of it as trying to prevent piracy over the initial release, but that has never stopped people pirating Steam games.

A question for you - do you already have a playthrough of Enhanced Edition Baldur's Gate 1 under your belt?

That's a pity because the game seems really interesting despite being a hiking simulator and also pretty short...
Well i can understand that some developers do that when they're a small studio and they're releasing their first game. Steam gives more visibility. I wish it would be different but it's unfortunately the truth. On the other hand it's als GOG's fault sometimes when they initially refuse a game and wait for the initial sales on steam before giving a game a chance....

Not enhanced no, only a few hours in. The original I've been through (sloppily) once.

It's okay, I am getting used to that kind of thing as games seem to require higher and higher specs, even when they look like they should be able to run on a toaster. :-)

You can't really blame GOG is some ways, especially as they have to support all the games here. And despite the complaining, I would rather have GOGs curation than Steams open door policy. Many of the games they turned down that people complain about I think deserved to be turned down for one reason or another. But I know others would disagree.

Okay, I was curious. I think it's the same as the original Baldur's Gate 2, where you can either import your characters from 1, or do a new character if you want.

Like I said, a lot of bravery involved. =)

I would suggest just in general to at least try the originals first before going in to the EE versions.
There are less options, but if you're new to the games that's not necessarily a bad thing.
