GamezRanker: (Btw, since you didn't opt out for the random draw, yer entered in that as well...unless you decide to opt out for some reason, that is)
Yes, I would like to try my luck at the random draw too :p
Thanks again for the game :)

mrkgnao: A fond gaming memory from 2020 was my having replayed Parasite Eve, a game which I had previously played (on the Playstation One) perhaps twenty years ago. This time around I didn't find it as good as I had remembered, but I enjoyed myself nonetheless.
avatar
GamezRanker: I didn't play much of that one, but I ot pretty far in PE2...fun times(though tough in spots).

Btw did ya know there is a handheld sequel to PE2? :)
(didn't play it, but I know it exists)
I liked PE2 as well, possibly even more than PE1. Perhaps I'll replay it in 2021.

As for the sequel, I know of The 3rd Birthday. I haven't played it, but I've heard it's pretty bad.

Be ready for some tough as nails bits.
(the game is one of those that ramps it up to 11 as soon as you near the end)

Even if that's the case, I might still play it...if only for more PE.

Hi GamezRanker and thanks again for a nice GA.

My fond gaming memory from 2020 is Resident Evil from 1997 (PC version). I found a copy in a garage sale for 1 € and it's a great game, far better than most of the Tomb Raider games in the 90's. The intro with real actors is hilarious, but I had a crush for the actess who played Jill Valentine :P You can see the intro here.

My childhood memory remains Zelda, Ocarina of Time on N64, during Christmas 1998. What a wonderful game.

My prediction for 2021 ? GOG Galaxy will become even less "optional" than currently. Yeah, it's an easy prediction :)

If I may, I would like to be in for Daikatana. I don't fear to die often, I recently played Blood 2 in the hardest difficulty ("Suicide") and also in for the random draw.

Those aren't candies. o.0
Really?? The booze I drank must've hit really hard. Damn!!

GamezRanker: Check yer PM in a bit, and thanks for playing with us. :)
Thank you very much for Elminage Gothic, GamezRanker!

I will start to play it shortly. I am new to the Dungeon Crawler genre and I have purchased some Asian dungeon crawlers recently. So I think it's a fine addition to these games. :)

Now, I would like to opt out of the random draw, so other gog folks could have better chances to win something too. Good luck, guys!
Nice theme song! I don't think I've watched the series.

I'd like to be in for The Long Journey Home.

I love Darkest Dungeon, played it a lot in 2020 it's epic. Pun not intended because I played it on GOG, courtesy of the benevolent mrkgnao.

2021 prediction: GOG announce The Witcher 4 to put Cyberpunk fiasco behind.

GamezRanker: Question

Name one fond gaming memory from 2020 and/or your childhood, and one future prediction for 2021
(the prediction can be non gaming related, but I ask entrants to try to stay within the forum's tos if they do so)
I'm in for just the random draw. Thank you of course for doing giveaways.

One fond gaming memory way back when was playing Caesar II on DOS, which gave me an incredibly favorable impression of PC gaming. I felt like I could get so immersed in the world of the game and the various possibilities the game offered (well, still offers) helped bring it to life. I was so happy when I saw it available here on GOG and naturally purchased it right away. While it has been years since I played, "plebs are needed!" is eternally popping up in my head.

As a future prediction, I predict that GOG will remove the DRM Galaxy requirement for Cyberpunk My Rewards and remove other offending games like No Man's Sky and GWENT from the store. Then, GOG.com can actually live up to its billing as a DRM-free store, and not be out of place on the site FCKDRM.com, which is designed to feature sources of media that are "100% DRM-free". Hey, a person can dream, and you didn't say the prediction had to be accurate :p

I love that game(never finished it yet, but it's on my "to do" list) as well....also my other favorites: RE2(classic), RE3(classic), RE4, and Code Veronica

I think they won't do this, as it would likely drive many from the site...they'd more likely just make it more enticing or easier for galaxy users, to force people to want to switch on their own.

That said, I will be watching the site to see what transpires re: Galaxy and other things over the next year.

Blood 2 is also good....if a bit cheesy. :)

(Btw check yer PM in a bit)

Outriders: Nice theme song! I don't think I've watched the series.
Yeah, it is a late night show from Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" program block. It is(iirc) a parody/homage to an old show called Sealab 2020.

Outriders: 2021 prediction: GOG announce The Witcher 4 to put Cyberpunk fiasco behind.
That would make a lot of people happy....I am sure. :)

And....sent.

(Btw since you didn't opt out for the random draw, you are entered for that as well...unless you choose to specifically opt out)

Reminds me of times when I played older C&C games and such.

Thanks, really nice of you, you're doing a lot for this community, much appreciated! I'm in for the random draw.

Fond gaming memory of 2020: "A legionary's life" - starting as a comman soldier, winning your first fight, taking part in sieges and battles, being promoted to centurio, winning civic and mural crowns, desperately hacking through the Macedonian phalanx in the final battle and getting a grass crown for it, and being inducted into the senate and finally becoming praetor after the end of the campaign. Fantastic experience, in a mostly text-based game developed by a single guy iirc.

Fond gaming memory of my childhood: Playing "Albion" when I was eleven, still one of my favorite games after a quarter of a century.

Prediction: 2021 will be even worse than 2020 in almost every way, and things will only continue to get worse in our lifetimes.. Colony ship rpg (if it gets released in 2021 and isn't delayed again) will be great though.

Isn't that one similar to eye of the beholder or other games of that era? I think I played some of that one long ago.

Maybe we the people should get to work on colony ship IRL edition? ;D

Only in the sense that it has 3D dungeons (outside of the dungeons you have a 2D view from above, somewhat similar to something like Dark Sun: Shattered lands). Combat is turn-based, whereas Eye of the Beholder is real-time, if I understand correctly. Really great game with a charming and unique story, can only recommend "Albion" to anybody interested in crpgs (even if the character development isn't that deep) and who's able to tolerate the dated graphics.

I played Magic Candle, so i'm used to worse.

Btw: Anvil of Dawn is another good one, iirc.

A shame that Code Veronica was never released on PC. Thanks for the game, btw.
