Thanks, i'm in for Indiana Jones (and random). 2020 gaming moment: Lair of the Clockwork God. 2021 prediction: GOG is bought by Epic.

ConsulCaesar: Nice giveaway! Please allow me to recommend to everybody Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, which is one of my fondest childhood gaming memories. ;)
You too? :)

avatar
ConsulCaesar: For 2020 my memory is climbing and running throughout the rooftops of Damascus, Acre and Jerusalem in Assassin's Creed. I spent as much time sightseeing as doing the actual assassination missions. For most this is probably an old memory, but I didn't play this game until this year (during the hardest part of the confinement) and now I really wish the next installments were available DRM-free.
Mayhaps they will be someday....we shall see.

avatar
ConsulCaesar: In for the random draw.
Yer all set...GL to ya. :)

Gog owned by the sweenster...*shudders*.

Thank you very much for the giveaway, GamezRanker! Happy New Year to you and everyone!

I'm in for:
Elminage Gothic
and random draw

I don't have my childhood memories of gaming because I have started playing PC games since my student days. But if you ask me I would say that I'm in fond memories with Heroes 3 (my first PC game ever on Windows 95) and Blade Runner (still have the original 4 CD box).

I don't have much good memories for 2020, though I can name one game the surprised me a bit - Gordian Quest.

Prediction for 2021 - Diablo 2 Remaster. Why not? :)
I am so confused by so much of the OP.
It says we must enter before January/in December, but then latter it says we must enter by Jan 3. Which is it? I guess the latter since the OP is only 10 hours old? But how is there winners listed already if it's not over yet?

" enter for the prize categories"
You mean we need to pick one out of several choices? Very unclear.

"Entrants must add me as PM contact here on GOG, during the contest the very least, so I can send them any won prizes."

Not sure what that means, add you as a friend? I got it set so anyone can PM me, will that suffice? Also I can't PM you, it gives me the screen shown in the attached image.

"I ask entrants to try to stay within the forum's tos if they do so"
I couldn't find any GOG TOS, do you mean this? https://www.gog.com/forum/general/forum_regulations?

Can I give a political prediction? That wouldn't be "discussion".

I see people mentioning what game they want, I don't see that in the OP. If I win I'd have to look up the games left and see which one I'd want, so I'm not going to do that ahead of time.

A good game memory is getting Galactic Civilization 2 for free from another give away thread last year, it was a daggered title even. And then Blade Runner a week ago or so.

My prediction for next year is, I'll play it safe and say at least one human will be alive by the end of next year. No political discussion there, right? It's a nice hopeful prediction for the future.

I hope this works, and I am considered entered correctly, if not, please tell me what I did wrong and how to fix it.

Thank you for the giveaway, I'm in for Thief 2.

Probably my favorite gaming memory of 2020 is Baldur's Gate 3 early access, it is very promising, making me ambitious for the games full release.

Prediction for 2021 - announcement of the release of gta 6 in the near future.
The game I'll always remember as Game of 2020 is Hollow Knight. It was something totally different than I expected (I thought it's just kind of platformer) and it turned out to be something much more – almost life-changing experience, something that opened for me new areas of gaming and new ways of approaching games. I remember my daughter telling me "dad, let's try to beat that boss one more time" :D and I rememember realizing soon after that it wasn't even boss, who was killing me xD After completing that game I'm a different person and I can even see how this game made some impact on my attitude at work (!).

My guess for 2021 is obvious and cannot be anything else – we're going with my whole family into the fascinating journey of Hollow Knight: Silksong, the good Lord willing! :D

I'd like to be in for Call of Cthulhu: Shadow of the Comet. I've completed "Call of Cthulhu: Prisoner of Ice" years ago (I guess I should buy it here also, as I don't expect to ever find my CD), but I still don't know the "Shadow of the Comet" – would be nice! :)

Happy New Year to GamezRanker and to everyone here!
hey, GamerCat, nice to see your post high-rated for a change. congrats!
1 a gaming memory from 2020: the final boss battle with fire and swirling rats in A Plague's Tale: Innocence! Epic!
from my childhood? My childhood is all a gaming memory, but in 1988 I found a 10000 £ note on the ground, I gave it to my mother and I got to play a lot at the arcade that day, on some vertical shmup, most likely Super Xevious.
2 a prediction: Nintendo will launch a Switch 2 or whatever they will call it - so I can get an old one for dirt cheap :D
Also, Bethesda will release DOOM 2016 on GOG! And Bandai Dark Souls! Ok, now I look like a tarot reader! These are more hopes than predictions!
I'm in for the random prize! Happy new year!

Nice....I still have some old disc box games as well....including some game on 5-6 cds that stars Christophen Walken(forget the name atm).

Yes, why not? :D

Check yer PM in a bit, and thanks for playing with us. :)
Thanks for the giveaway, GamezRanker!

One of my favorie gaming memories from 2020 is that someone dug up the publishing rights for Diggles. I thought this game would never be re-released again.

As for 2021, I really hope Volition will finally release an updated version of Saints Row 2 (my favorite game in the series) for PC. The main developer of this update had some serious health problems, but has now dealt with them and returned to work in November.

I'm in for Normality and a random draw.
Thank you for the generous giveaway! I'm in for the random draw.

My fond gaming memory was when arcade games were still a thing. There was this one game that me and my cousin have been trying to beat without continues. IIRC, the game was called Area 51. It's a shooting game with, of course, aliens. After weeks of trying to beat it, we finally did it. It was awesome because people were flocking around us because we were so in the zone. We were alien killing bad asses. Another reason why people were gathering around was because we managed to discover secret levels or bonus stages during that run. They also knew that we were trying to beat it without any continues. Everybody was just having a good time. They were cheering and stuff. After we beat it, we didn't play it again. We conquered that damn game. Good times.

What it meant is that entrants must have joined GOG before January 2021....and also that those who joined in December 2020 can enter but they will be scrutinized more than others before being awarded a prize.

As for January 3rd, that is when the random draw prize will be drawn.

avatar
myconv: " enter for the prize categories"
You mean we need to pick one out of several choices? Very unclear.
It means that one can pick a game from the list of games, enter for the random draw, or both.

avatar
myconv: "Entrants must add me as PM contact here on GOG, during the contest the very least, so I can send them any won prizes."

Not sure what that means, add you as a friend? I got it set so anyone can PM me, will that suffice? Also I can't PM you, it gives me the screen shown in the attached image.
That means that entrants need to be able to receive PMs from me, so they can claim a game they pick from the games list or in case they win the random draw prize. You seem to be able to get PMs from me, so you're all set in that regard.

avatar
myconv: "I ask entrants to try to stay within the forum's tos if they do so"
I couldn't find any GOG TOS, do you mean this? https://www.gog.com/forum/general/forum_regulations?
Yes, that is what I meant....if a person posts a non gaming prediction, I ask them to stay within the forum rules so that the thread doesn't get moderated.

avatar
myconv: Can I give a political prediction? That wouldn't be "discussion".
If you want.

avatar
myconv: I see people mentioning what game they want, I don't see that in the OP. If I win I'd have to look up the games left and see which one I'd want, so I'm not going to do that ahead of time.
The list of games is in the section of the first post(the op post) titled: Games List

Entrants(as said above in this same reply) can pick a game from that list, enter for the random draw(which is for a gog store credit), or both.

Yep

myconv: I hope this works, and I am considered entered correctly, if not, please tell me what I did wrong and how to fix it.
No, you're all set....now you can:

1. Pick a game from the first post's games list.

2. Enter for the random draw(which will be drawn January 3rd, and is for a gog store credit)

3. Or even both. :)

(Btw since you didn't opt out, I will put your name in the list for the random draw...you are free to opt out if you want, though, at any time)
