Update: Contest is now CLOSED...thanks to everyone that participated :)

Well, every year or so I make a contest to give back for all this fine community has given me(in the form of things like well wishes, kind words, games, media suggestions, etc).....and that time is once again upon us. :)

Entry is simple: one must read this entire post to make sure they're eligible, and then enter for the prize categories(listed below) they want to while answering the contest question(listed below). =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Rules

1a. Deadlines for the contest are listed below, in the section titled "deadlines"
1b. Prize categories are listed below in the section titled "prizes"
1c. The question one must answer to enter is listed in the section titled "question"

2. Entrants must have joined GOG before January 2021....also there are some exceptions:

Users who joined GOG in December 2020 and/or who have no games in their libraries will be checked by me before any prize is awarded.

3. Entrants must add me as PM contact here on GOG, during the contest the very least, so I can send them any won prizes.

4. Entrants can either opt in or out for the random draw prize category.
(if one doesn't opt in or out they will be opted in by default, out of the sake of fairness :))

5. Entrants may enter to give the winnings to someone else, but only if they state they are entering for someone else when entering.

(optional) I would prefer that winners not sell their prizes or trade them for other things with other users.

(optional) Uprating of my posts isn't necessary(beyond maybe the OP post, so the thread doesn't slide down the front page while the contest is running).....if people want to show their appreciation in such ways, i'd rather they uprate other posters ITT or (even better) reply with a kind word or two to other posters ITT. :)

Deadlines

Deadline for the games list prize category is whenever the games run out, or the random draw deadline...whichever comes first.

Deadline for the random draw is extended to January 3rd, 2021 at around 11 PM, EST.

=-=-=-=-=-=

Question

Name one fond gaming memory from 2020 and/or your childhood, and one future prediction for 2021
(the prediction can be non gaming related, but I ask entrants to try to stay within the forum's tos if they do so)

One can also post a nice media link or picture as well, if they so choose.

=-=-=-=-=-=

Prizes

Games List: Players who are eligible may pick one game from the list below(first come, first serve)

Random Draw: players who are eligible may also opt in or out of the random draw, which will be for a mystery amount of store credit.

Side "door" prize: A rep award will go to post I most like, find interesting or informative, etc.....and could be awarded at any time.
(this is a "tradition" of mine for over a year now...mostly a symbolic thing)

Thank you
(though I feel I am more a small player compared to true MVPs like Doc and such...still I try to live up to their example :))

My epic gaming memory is a trailer of TES 3 Morrowind. It was my first 3D RPG that was amazing even before official launch. I remember thousands hours of gameplay with many mods in global world of the Elder scrolls...
And about future prediction - I think Cyberpunk 2077 will be the best game of the year 2021 )))
I'm in for Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, thanks!

Catac1ysm: I'm in for Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, thanks!
I also love that game somewhat(though my ocd makes it hard to get very far into it).

Thanks for playing, and check yer PM.
Thank you for the giveaway. I'm in for Rune Classic, and for the mystery draw

The gaming memory from 2020 is the same as the one from my childhood. Wing Commander 1 and 2.

I first played the DOS version of WC2, on a computer that was probably too slow to run it properly. Then I played the Kilrathi Saga versions about 22 years ago, and finally the GOG dosbox ones.

Either the Kilrathi Saga fixed all of the DOS bugs I encountered, or I was remembering it with rose coloured glasses. There were times I found it incredibly frustrating, but I expect I have less patience these days. I'd still list it among my favourite games though.

My prediction for 2021 is that very little will change. The vaccine rollout will take a long time, so the disruptions to life will continue. GOG will muddle along, progressively alienating the remaining community members who provide voluntary services to improve GOG listing accessibility. Most will hopefully persevere though.

Not much of a prediction - simply the continuation of doom and gloom. I'm not really a positive person.
My epic gaming memory of 2020 is discovering Far Cry 2, and how close it was to home. Many scenes and situations could have happened in my country. I was complete awed by it and by its open wold setting.

My prediction for 2021 is that there will be far more attention to develop games playable with Intel onboard graphics, since there are so many laptops out there with Intel as their only graphics platform.

I'm in for either Shadowgrounds or The Long Way Home. Any of them would be good to me.

And THANKS for this contest and giveaway!
Thank you for the giveaway, I'm in for Tropico Reloaded

Probably my favorite gaming memory of 2020 is the release of the new update 1.5 for Stardew valley... This game is one of my favorites of all time and the new update added a new area + new npc's + a lot of more things to do and I couldn't be happier that it released at a perfect time before Christmas when I didn't have to work.
As for a childhood memory I think it was when I first purchased my first game PES 5 and me and my friend would spend hours playing together.
My prediction for 2021 is that GOG will add a lot of AA and AAA games because it is the start of a new decade and publishers will be more willing to bring their older games here (hopefully skyrim and fallout 4)

Fond gaming 2020 memories: playing 2 Frog Detectives games was the most satisfying 2. 5 hours of my 2020 gaming days.

Prediction: More games will be delayed. No game developers and AAA publishers want to repeat the Cyberpunk 2077 shitshow.

In for Gothic. Only have the 3rd one here. Happy new year

Thanks for giveaway!

My gaming memory from 2020 is Cyberpunk was finally released and I bought physical copy of the game, it was hard because there was a big shortage of pc verison at stores and everyone was hunting for their a copy of the game.
My prediction for 2021 is more games with RTX and DLSS.

I'm in for Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude.

And thanks for entering.

Btw, I also like RTX, as long as they remember to keep the other game areas(story/gameplay length/etc) intact.

Check yer PM in a sec, and thanks for joining in with us. :)

(btw yer entered for the random draw as well, as you didn't opt out...just letting ya know)

Thanks for the giveaway.
I'm in for Blackguards 2

Mine has something more to do with the game itself than the gameplay.
Bomberman — this was the only game to my knowledge that my father has ever played. My mom used to tell us how he would sneak out at night when we (kids) were asleep, just to have his gaming session. (yeah, FUN times ^^,)
As for 2021 prediction: hmm… I'll be getting a free game from a GOG user (soon).

I have a similar memory....I would play one arcade game for hours and hours....so much fun.
