Catmancer: Is it me or has GoG Connect been abandoned? I haven't seen it be implemented in a long time. I have so many games on Steam I wish to get on here too. I hope it hasn't been forgotten.

SmollestLight: As ConsulCaesar has already pointed out, the GOG Connect offers were time-limited and are no longer supported.
I get the site is probably angel hair spaghetti code but it really needs to be removed from the site footer then :P
Its dead Jim.
They probably left it there in case they had need to use in the future for whatever reason (wasnt it always a devs choice if they wanted to basically offer the game for free on GOG if the customer had it already on steam?
Every month we get a thread like this, every month GOG is too lazy to remove the connect link in the footer.

Seriously, GOG, is it so hard to just remove the footer link until you either do or do not choose to bring connect back?

ettac orrazib si eman ym: The way I see it, is that GOG Connect only ever ran a specific times anyway. At no point did it run continuously or regularly.

It hasn't been used in several years because they haven't decided to use it. They may use it at some point, or they may never use it again but there was never any suggestion that there would be X number of games per year or anything like that.
It hasn't been several years, at most it would be somewhat over two years since it last listed a game.

And like you say it was an irregular thing, often with many months between offerings. Over time the gap has lengthened.

We've been getting threads like this for years, even when it was still working now and then.

GOG may never use it again, but despite what they are saying at the moment, they have clearly left it as a future possibility.

I consider two (or more) to fit the definition of several and I think it may be closer to 3 years.

Anyway, I agree they seem to be keeping the option open. I don't really see a problem with leaving it on the footer, because when you click on it it explains fairly clearly that there are no games currently available.

I grew up with the understanding that two meant a couple, and that a few was three to four, and several was five plus (maybe less than ten or a dozen).

But hey, English isn't an exact science, so each to their own I guess. :)

There are some who probably believe several means seven of more. LOL
