anothername: I guess it was intended to be "best digital shop platform" or something like that but whomever made that list was ... unable (my first 10 word choices where different) to write it. Otherwise GTA5 would have been the best Steam game and not the best PC game...

Actually that would make more sense that how it is now since IIRC PC GTA is a steam exclusive anyway. Followed by that a best PC game candidate which needs at least 2 independent sources (i.e. Steam & gog; Steam-keys outside of steam do not count) would be neat.

PookaMustard: GTA is not steam exclusive.

GTA's main DRM is Social Club, there are non-Steam and Steam versions but either way, you're still going through Social Club.

Heh, so am I. I may be young, but I still feel old too!
I never finished Witcher 3 so I can't comment on the entire game but it seemed great (excluding my growing lack of interest in video games at the time of playing).

That said; Best Audio: Ori and the Blind Forest (Microsoft).

That was well deserved. The art design is also phenomenal and it comes with a great story as well. Some annoying timing sequences especially those that were time limited as well but in general, solid gameplay too.

Congratulations to CDPR & Witcher 3 for showing the big boys how it's done!
I want to see CyperPunk2077 doing just as well.

As for the rest of the awards. Meh, there are some I agree, some I don't care, and some I disagree.

A toggle FPS/TPS mode in a game is hardly a technical feat let alone an innovation.

Also Steam won Gaming Platform of the Year? That's rubbish.
Customer support? Steam Machines & controller? Paid Mods?

May GOG beat them next year.

All things considered, it's richly deserved from what I've been reading about W3. Will get it myself at some point, but I really can't add a game of that magnitude to the games pile without starting a backlog avalanche.

omega64: How is first person in GTAV an innovation?
Rockstar are the first AAA developer to put a first person mode in a Grand Theft Auto title.

First. Time. Ever.

PookaMustard: Congratulations CDPR!

But what, CS:GO is an esports icon? There are two wrong things with this achievement. Go figure it out. I bet Valve paid Golden Joystick to make up this award.

Spy_Gentleman: Don't forget the fact that instead of PC as a selection for Best Gaming Platform, it's Steam instead.
I saw that too. Unfortunately for 80% of mainstream PC games you have no choice but to use Steam.

I would not call Steam the best gaming platform.

Its all thanks to people who decided shooting themselves in the foot is better than not shooting themselves in the foot. Can't wait when Valve just dies. A horrible overrated service.

Good one. :P
I just hope all this publicity for CDPR can change the minds of those holding the reigns of all those games we want to see released here.

I'd choose Nintendo 3DS or WiiU.

I've chosen 3DS.

You are not alone mate, also this last year they put a few dents in the whole "Valve can do no wrong" shite.

Personally I don't care if they're still around, I want them to lose the stranglehold they've got on PC games, and then perhaps buying a new PC game from the store (90% of the time) won't require online activation.

Though I wouldn't mind paying an extra $5-$10 if they include an additional code for a GOG version :)
Though I prefer to see a game list "steam" as its platform rather than "PC", when its tied to steam.
