Concerning the Avernum series - Spiderweb Software (the publishers) labeled the whole exile series, Exile 1, 2, 3 and Blades of Exile, as free to play. For the windows XP users (and later) there's even a note on how to fix "16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem" Error.
Hope it helps :)
You should probably add
Deponia: The Complete Journey
as, not only does it have all three games as one uninterrupted game, it also adds a bunch of extras - commentary etc

(hopefully it will turn up pretty soon though)

You should also note the 20th Anniversary Edition of both Simon 1 & 2, currently available only on android but an IOS version is in development.
Not only do they support the fan made beautifully remastered OGG soundtrack, but they also support every language version.
And they cost less then the gog versions...
I also believe the Roberta Williams Anthology should appear in this compilation.
If the King's Quest III remake on the list is a fan remake, and it appears to be, it should be pointed out that there are actually not one, but TWO remakes of that.

By AGD Interactive (formerly known as Tierra, creators of Al Emmo etc.):

By Infamous Adventures (by some of the same people who just released Quest for Infamy):

The list has only AGDI version mentioned.

A personal opinion:
I'm not sure if having fan remakes on the list is necessary, as those are not official games, and a legal nightmare to say the least.

And there are a load of those around, so the list will become almost endless. For instance, there is also (and not on the list) Leisure Suit Larry 2 Point and Click, which doesn't actually "remake" the game all that much. Graphics and the story are exactly as in the original version, but as it has been done with AGS, it does have a different engine, which (as the name suggests) supports pointing and clicking...

Cool, hows about a note on "King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown (VGA remake)" to indicate that its from a 3rd party though?
Also I can't believe the official Sierra remakes of Kings Quest 1 and Space Quest 1 aren't here - I think I always assumed they were because the Sierra remake of LSL1 is (as part of the pack, in addition to the other, newer remake!)

I am putting them on the list for two reasons: 1) so that any "completionist" can find about what other game she/he might be interested in playing in a series, 2) things would still be complicated if I hadn't added them. One example is Duke Nukem fan made expansions which have later gotten official recognition.

added Z (The Original Game) since GOG marked the real wish page as completed despite the fact the original game was not released here

I don't know what you want to do with 'Legend of Heroes - Trails in the Sky' because I'm pretty sure its part of the 'Dragon Slayer' universe of games, a couple of which have made it to PC in the past:
http://www.mobygames.com/game-group/dragon-slayer-universe

But its a 'universe' rather than 'series' thing so its your call

And yes I guess I need to do an XSEED section now! (cool and all to have them here though)
