rodrolliv: Holy DOS release! I totally missed that back in the day.
More on the topic, it's certainly a good discussion. On one hand it's a completionist list, so once the doors are opened for the first game of a franchise, even the more obscure and forgotten ones will be considered for some of us as possible for a release here. On the other, some franchises are way big and generic, and could be labeled as "fragmented" into different subseries or even spinoffs, i.e. the rabbids from Rayman, KOTOR which is set thousands of years before the main SW line-up, the games based on movies or comics that follow the script and the ones with their own independent stories within the IP...
I would go with the subseries line, one at a time. Otherwise the list would implode the day LucasArts joined GOG ;)
keremix: On the other hand, I've already put all the spin-offs there. For example, all the titles under Might and Magic are basically spin-offs. Another example is Prince of Persia series, where the classic Prince of Persia titles and Prince of Persia 3D are all included within the series. Same goes for SimCopter (a simcity spin-off), Warlords series, some of the worms games. So maybe it is fair to put Judge Dredd games as well? More on the topic, it's certainly a good discussion. I still wouldn't go too remote though, such as adding GoldBox titles in the absence of any GoldBox game just because it shares the same world/setting with some other game.
The only difference being that the fact that they also, around the same time, made games based around the invented-for-SCUMM Monkey Island IP implying that Telltale were directly influenced by Lucus Arts in selecting Sam and Max to make new games about...

Sorry if I'm being annoying now but I've just thought of another one - 'Theme Hospital' is a stupid name in a vacuum and I believe that the reason it was called that was to make it clear that its a spin-off from / semi sequel to Theme Park, then, of course, Theme Park got at least 2 full sequels - maybe they should be added?

you're actually being helpful! :) I would not consider them a series, otherwise that would cause me to put the entire sim[insert name] games because of simcity 2000. therefore, I think it makes more sense to take simcity (or theme park) as separate seriesPost edited February 20, 2013 by keremix

OK this is interesting - GOG has Sid Meier's Colonization from 1994 but that was re-done and updated as a stand-alone total conversion expansion for Civ 4:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/16810/
Whether that mean the rest of the Civ series should be dragged in as well is up to you but this should be here
(incidentally, there's a good case for adding the whole Civ series to your list because Alpha Centuri is here - reaching Alpha Centuri first was always one of the win conditions in Civ and the game 'Alpha Centuri' is meant to be about what happens next after you get there so there's an actual plot connection of sorts)
*edit* you also have, in your list, 'Civilisation: Call to power as the prequel to Call to Power 2 which is another reason to add all of Civ, when you count these 3 things together, maybe...
Oh speaking of Sid Meier, GOG has Pirates Gold which includes the original 1987 versions and the 1993 re-make but, turns out, it was remade AGAIN in 2005:

added Sid Meier's Pirates! (2004)

There is of course a relevance. But I decided to take them as separate series (Alpha Centauri series, Civilization series, Colonization etc) added Sid Meier's Pirates! (2004)
