PHANTASMAGORIA: A PUZZLE OF FLESH (WINDOWS ENHANCED VERSION) (currently 73 votes)

This is another one of the cases where GOG offers the inferior version of a highly acclaimed game. Phantasmagoria 2 is probably one of the more important adventures in GOG catalogue. Yet, we don't have the Windows Enhanced version which has much higher resolution videos as well as more speech. If you also wish to discuss it in the forums, there are some threads already created. <span class="bold">Thread 1</span> <span class="bold">Thread 2</span>

I urge everyone to Vote for it!

The OP says games with less than 350, the 2 I posted (I'm not sure which you are referring to since you "snipped") have less than 350. What is this issue?

That is right, but you should put the number of votes the game had the moment you posted it here into your post :-)

Battle Bugs (67 votes)

GOG wishlist link, Wikipedia link, Moby Games link

I played this game a long time ago. It may have aged poorly, but I remember it fondly. In a way, it does for strategy games what Micro Machines did for racing games -- it makes it fun and not serious at another scale.

The player controls a number of bugs, in an effort to conquer food that lays on the battlefield. Some bugs have special abilities that must be used in some way in order to solve some cenarios. But the game often does not force you to solve the challegnes in a set way.

NINE (9): The Last Resort : 41 votes

Perhaps GOG can merge them?

DESCRIPTION: 9: The Last Resort is one of the most unique games ever made. A point and click adventure and puzzle trip with somewhat psychedelic graphics rendered in an expressionistic style. It has the distinction of being the only computer game produced by Hollywood bigshot Robert Di Nero's company Tribecca and boasts an impressive line up of voice talent from LaLaLand including Cherr, the late Christopher Reeve (1980's Superman), Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, Jim Bulushi and many more. While not always easy its generally only moderately difficult and the puzzles, twisted storyline and edgy and somewhat bizzare atmosophere are more than enough ...

updated the list. Hexplore and Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland appear to get some love lately :)
Malice for Quake 19 votes

Basically a first person shooter using the Quake engine. It's pretty good, in part because of its cheesy writing and plot (the main antagonist is named Colonel Bossman).
I.M. Meen 2 votes

A Wolfenstein 3D clone and educational game. Notable in that the people who did the cutscenes were the same people who did the cutscenes in the Zelda CD-i games.
<span class="bold">UBIK</span> (Currently 77 votes)

</span> is a tactical action/strategy game based on <i>"[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubik]Ubik", a Philip K. Dick's novel. It was published and developed by Cryo Interactive in 1998, and came on 3 CD's.

Los Angeles, 2019. You are Joe Chip, a squad leader working for the Runciter Associates, whose main activity is to protect companies against industrial espionage and sabotage. With the advancements in genetic engineering and the development of replicants, many corporations have PSI powers at hand to reach their targets. This is particularly the case of the Hollis Corporation, a megacorp that uses cyber-augmented psychic agents.

In this game, you have to train, equip and lead a squad of selected agents (with weapon and PSI skills), take part in various missions against the Hollis Corporation, recruit potential psychic agents, and keep track of your budget. Your squad is made of Phys and Psys agents. The Psys agents are the only ones with psychic abilities, but their combat skills are very limited. The Phys agents are soldiers trained for combat and weaponry, and are used to protect them. PSI powers are divided into 6 families: biology, energy, mind, time, matter and movement. There are four different classes for Phys agents: medics, snipers, scouts and hackers.

The game uses real-time 3D rendered maps and lets you interact with your environment and talk to various individuals, including informers and the Runcinter's staff. It contains a lot of cinematic cutscenes, offers four levels of difficulty, and the ability to build your own squad or use a pregenerated one.

Wolfenstein 3D clone. Fairly playable, though it is a bit lacking in later levels.
Whale's Voyage 94 votes

Mixture of first person perspective dungeon crawler with some trading elements to it.
Oxyd 13 votes

Puzzle game involving a marble.
<span class="bold">Brain Dead 13</span> (Currently 88 votes)

In Brain Dead 13, the player takes on the role of a young computer expert who one day is called to fix a computer at some scary castle and in no time flat, finds himself in trouble.

It is up to the player to use the complex moves of an interactive movie to escape from the castle. This animated adventure is basically based on the player's judgment on which direction you think the character might go, and if the player guesses wrong, death.

This game is very similar to Dragon's Lair and Space Ace.
