Think of it this way; they were never going to make a new C&C anyway, so you're not really losing anything.

Like the old C&C games? OpenRA has you covered.

Want an actual spiritual successor? Not happening, RTS has been quietly folded into the dusty shelves of obscurity.

But there's Warzone2100 and Forged Battalion for things that are quite like, but almost entirely unlike Command and Conquer.

As an alternative I will add Twisted Insurrection, wonderfull mod based on Tiberian Sun Engine:

Hopefully they get so much backlash they stop trying to milk it and then finally sell the old C&C games here.

It's also edited in so many ways in terms of gameplay that if you just want the classics, you're better off getting the freeware versions from CnCNet (which are more popular anyway).


Is this a joke?

The trailer was just a "kthxbye" moment. C&C was dead with Tiberian Twillight already. EA's browser game was nonsense and now they ultimately raped a dead body with this mobile garbage. That clip has nothing to do with anything from that franchise. The good thing is: it doesn't look cute enough to pull players from similar mobile games and fans of C&C look at it like it got out of the nuclear plant of chernobyl.
