idbeholdME: I never played the expansion packs before Firestorm for Tiberian Sun because they have no overlapping story. It is just random disconnected missions with no relevance to the main game whatsoever and I had no desire to play them. So I never played Covert Ops, Counterstrike or Aftermath.
Well that's the thing, all those missions from the expansion packs had FMVs, but only on playstation. On DOS we only got text briefings. These should now be available in the remaster.

darthspudius: Why would you fix the wall strategy? You don't have to use it but it's still there for those that would like to.
All I want is AI enemy player to shoot the wall obstacles like normal players would do, not stopping aimlessly. Apparently I want too much.
I discovered on RockPaperShotgun, that the trailer for the Remaster has been released: youtube video.

Unfortunately some bad news have also slipped. Such as the game being release only on STEAM and Origin, and the STEAM version also requires login in to Origin...

I would have loved to experience the remaster, and reward Petroglyph's efforts. If there were a GOG release I'd have bought it full price, day one. On STEAM I'd have waited for a 50% discount. But for DOUBLE DRM... I guess you can keep your game EA. :(

It's effectively game breaking for some of those levels. I'm not convinced changing one of the main strategies of the game is a good way to pull in old fans. A couple of levels out there need those walls, because screw that level where Seth gets shot lol.

There's an extensive list of features on their website

https://www.ea.com/games/command-and-conquer/command-and-conquer-remastered/features

I was fully expecting this to be another lazy cashgrab, but it actually seems like they put a ton of effort into it. I'm sold.

Well, they do not list the most important feature - DRM.

Just saying ;)

That was to be expected though. No surprises there.

I finished all the main games and have no idea what the "wall strategy" even is. Meaning it is absolutely not required since I don't remember having much trouble in any of the missions.

So if they decide to fix a bug/exploit, all the better.

I'm sure you don't. Don't fix what isn't broken.

If I understand correctly what that is (the AI doesn't actively attack walls and you can effectively completely block it from doing anything), then I would say that it is broken and should indeed be fixed.

Call it a bug or an oversight, but if you decide to exploit it, you might as well just cheat straight away. People just get this warm and fuzzy feeling whenever they find an exploit in the game mechanics or anywhere else, allowing them to basically cheat without actually straight up cheating and then when called out try to justify it by that.

I don't care about how anyone plays their games, but if you can inadvertently or intentionally reach a situation where AI becomes unresponsive, it should be patched out.

That’s not news, it’s EA, course it is all going to be drm’d to the hilt. Has to be for their microtransaction, dlc part up, monetisation etc scenario. There will not, and never will be gog releases. I doubt any EA title will come here anymore.
I can't find it right now but the EA guy explicitly said that the Steam edition does require an EA login but does NOT require the Origin client installed. Which means that there is no Origin DRM applied to the Steam version, just the Steam DRM.

You still need to login on to EA's servers. If they go down, you don't get to play your game even though you have to put up with STEAM's DRM. EA's servers going down, isn't that rare.
I'm a bit saddened by the fact that they promised to keep things like is was but with a polish (seriously, no pun intended there... ;) ), but they seem to have changed EVA's voice to a completely different voice, kinda like what CCP did with EVE Online to make it sound more like a human.

I know it's still the same voice actress Kia Huntzinger, however it's just not same... This is a huge deal breaker for me because EVA is not a human at all. I can get past low quality graphics or errors/glithes, but things just have to sound right.

No worries there:
"Jim Vessella, the remaster’s creative director, noted that players will have the option of choosing Huntzinger’s remastered EVA voice-over, or the original audio."
