An old-school RPG will arrive on GOG.COM on 15th January 2020. Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls from XSEED Games revitalizes the time-honored formula of the original dungeon crawler series and adds modernized visuals and sound to the mix.

I'll pass on Wizardry: Mobile Waifu Edition, but at least it's here for those that wanted it.

dtgreene: Remember, GOG *did* end up releasing Arabian Nights here, even though that game is rather famous for being buggy and possibly unplayable (when not speedrunning it).

GameRager: Is that game old/classic(by that I mean pre 2002 or around that)? If so, IIRC they usually make exceptions for some old games(especially smaller size games which take up less server space/etc) which no longer receive updates & which have a decent user base to sell to.
Arabian Nights doesn't have a real userbase, it's a completely broken, incompetent train wreck of a game that only got popular because of a memetastic GDQ speedrun, not many people would actually want it, but plenty voted for it "for the lulz".

Well i'll take your word for it(unless I find out otherwise from someone else, that is) as I am not familiar with the game.....still, if it sells and people buy/don't refund it'll still help GOG a bit...and who knows, some might even have some sort of fun with it. :)
Not sure if this helps anyone, but I had this game for PS3, and despite putting a lot of time into it, I just wasn't that satisfied with the overall experience.

I'm just seeing that some people are disappointed that it took this long for Wizardry: LoLS to come to GOG, and I want to stave off further disappointment for those people by helping them manage their expectations.

truhlik: And now it's time for Gates of Skeldal :)
Wishlist entry
Seconded ;-)

I played the first one and liked it. Are the other Skeldals any good as well?

Out of curiosity, have you played Elminage Gothic?

Basically my thinking too.

Yeah, I have it on Steam, but haven't put that much time into it. Didn't really get into it.

Maybe this just isn't my genre. *shrug*

What did you like and dislike(without too many spoilers if possible)?

Also if it's even somewhat good(and even if its comedically bad) I might buy it anyways just to see how it is as it's in a genre I like.

Well, apparently it was 2011 when I last played Wizardry: LoLS, and according to my PSN profile, I didn't actually complete anyone's scenario, but I do remember putting a lot of time into it. One trophy I do have is for mapping 100% of the dungeon. Apparently getting to the final floor of the dungeon isn't enough to beat the game.

I think that's what cheesed me, having seen the whole dungeon, yet still having to go back and do extra stuff to beat the scenario. I kinda just wanted it to be over at that point, if I'm recalling correctly.

Guys, please cut down the personal talk and off-topic in this thread - it's for discussing the upcoming Wizardry game. Thanks! :)

I like such things and have not much else BUT time...so sounds good enough for me....thanks for the info, btw. :)
Who's played this game? Is it good?
I've played it and it but it (PS3 version) didn't quite capture me like the original Wizardry games did (is made be a different developer so that may be part of it). It should be okay for a play-through but unless you like extensive grinding I would avoid trying for the game achievements as they are very demanding for a game like this.
After 20 years I can finally put my old saves to use

I went with my party from Wiz6 to 7 and now final 8th. Better not stop there...

Unfortunately, you won't be able to do this here.

This Wizardry game is a Japanese spin-off, and is hence not part of the main series (which I call the Sir-Tech Wizardry games). Also, it was originally released for platforms that did not have Wizardry 8.

Also, about half the classes that were in Wizardry 8 do not appear in this game, so actually implementing such a character transfer would not be straightforward; what should be done with Gadgeteers, for example?
