Pica-Ludica: GOG doesn't announce an upcoming, hype-worthy title, we complain ("Bwaah, if I knew it was coming here, I wouldn't have bought it on Steam!")

Pica-Ludica: Ergo, GOG can't win. :)

Nah, that's just Crosmando for you. ;-)
I must say I wasn't expecting the game to come here since it's being published by Paradox who tend to focus only on Steam nowadays.
Good news then.
I'm going to go ahead and assume this will be decent based on various other factors however I have to say that for myself, trailers that show hand painted storyboards with a narrative about story are underwhelming without gameplay footage. When companies release trailers like this and you have to go on Youtube and watch Pewdiepie play the game to see what it is actually like, it makes me think they're hiding something.

Same is true for games with trailers that are just game cut scenes or similar, but they can at least trick you into thinking a game is awesome. Narrated storyboards put me to sleep. :)

Pewdiepie would never play Pillars of Eternity or a similar game on youtube. You have to read long blocks of text in the game. I'm pretty sure that's not compatible with intelligence of his average viewer :-P

apehater: so this is poe 2?
Nah it's some small side-project which uses the gameplay mechanics/engine/codebase of poe.

Luckmann: Soon or Soon™?

mecharma: It's "soon".

Promise™!
Now this, this right here, this is why I love you guys.

10-goddamn-10 right there.

JinseiNGC224: The thing that concerns me is that in games that are similar to this, such as Baldurs Gate or even Pillars of Eternity, , you could be good or evil. I feel like I already have less options in this game, because being either a judge or executioner for an evil overlord doesn't really say much for thinking positive.

Fenixp: You could be good or evil in Baldur's Gate, not in Pillars of Eternity. The world Pillars presented us with was very much a shades of grey ordeal, which is what I imagine Tyranny will do as well.
Yeah I guess the "grey" area is what I was thinking of the most. Hopefully Tyranny turns out amazing though just like PoE

I would however love a Pillars of Eternity sequel to create something new and expand on the already rich world

Very happy with how Pillars of Eternity turned out (let’s face it, Kickstarter needed the win) and am glad to see Tyranny coming to GOG.

ah, so they're trying to make extra cash for poe 2 then

amund: Sounds interesting, I like the art style.

gamesfreak64: Great art style, story characters, to bad the game is loaded with flashes , explosions and too many motions, lots of fast scrolling, i watched some play videos on youtube.
Thats why i wont buy it, besides i can barely run pillars (well its more that i cant run it without turning my pc into a barbq , and this game will give me even more performance problems.)
In most games you can disable a lot of the visual effects, you may want to wait for a demo (if one exists). Only game that I know of that I couldn't play because of motion sickness is Hotline Miami. It sucks when you can't play the games you are otherwise interested in.

Don't worry, there's definitely going to be a sequel. I can't bothered to search for source on this info so take it with a grain of salt I suppose, but information about Obsidian wanting to do a turn-based spin-off soaked trough (not actually planning to yet). Obsidian is definitely planning a sequel tho.
This game looks great ^_^

At least he didn't advocate sending GOG's staff to the gas chamber- for him that's about as civil and reasonable as it gets.
Isn't like, already here? Like, worldwide? Like, for ages now? Aren't we, like, the oppressed masses?
Wishlisted!
