Repalyability is the key word for Tyranny.
The game is created for being short, but also for possibly have very different ways to complete it. Each run is meant to be really different from the previous, based on the C&C criteria.
When do we expect this game?

I know it's this year, but do we know when the dev hope to release it?
Knowing Obsidian, it will be beautiful, it will have a good story, and it will be hella bugged.

Like, crippling bugged.

Like, more bugged than Klendathu in starship troopers.

I love Obsidian games, and New Vegas was far, far better than faIlouts 3 and 4 combined.

But, there will be bugs.

Nope. Nothing else so far.

Ninetou: I'm disappointed and surprised to see this being Windows only especially considering that PoE was multi-platform. I hoped to see support for Macs and Linux as well... Looks like they might have transitioned from Unity engine to something else.
The official info for Tyranny over on the Paradox site
indicates it will be available for Windows, Mac and Linux. I'd consider that authoritative for the game, but naturally not for GOG since there are many games that are cross platform, but only appear as Windows titles on GOG.

Honestly, I think Obsidian's reputation for bugs is far overstated. KotOR 2? Bugged to hell and back, yep. NWN? Bugged to hell and back, yep. But their other games? I don't think they were plagued any worse than many other games at release. It just seems that the bugs in Obs' games are overly scrutinized and given far more weight than they would be if it were another studio simply due to the legacy of the previously mentioned games.

So yeah, sure, there will be bugs. But I highly doubt it will be much worse than most other games on release day.

I agree.
Their last buggy game was Alpha Protocol, which was a mess, sure, but since then pretty much all their latest titles were solid and almost bug-free at release. I didn't find any noteworthy bug in PoE, nor in South Park (although I've not yet finished it, but still in a half dozen hours I didn't have any problems). And I've heard that DS3 was solid as well.
RPGs are just inherently more buggy too, I think.

Especially when multiple solution paths are offered ... as is the case with Tyranny. :|

But it doesn't help to prejudge the game before it's out (LONG before it's out, in all probability). Some hardcore gamers will buy it and will have played for 10 hours before I even get to ponder the purchase at launch discount, I hope. :)
I really hope the Linux versions show up on GOG. This lack of multiplatform support is really wearing.

I have no issue with it, it's just how it goes. This is why I never play new RPGs and always wait until 6months-1year or more until after they are released.

I recently bought and started to play Knights of the Old Republic again. And, surprise, it still is prone to crash during/after the first video cutscene, directly after a hefty boss fight.

13 years didn't fix that bug ... and I guess one single year doesn't necessarily fix the bugs in newer games. :(
