In a mood for a comedy point-and-click game? We got you; The Will of Arthur Flabbington is coming soon on GOG!

The Will of Arthur Flabbington is an entertaining point-and-click adventure game that revolves around a hilarious quest to locate your uncle's missing treasure. You’ll embark on this thrilling journey with an unlikely and unwilling companion by your side, and will have to overcome your differences and work together to achieve your shared objective.

Soon on GOG!
This one touches the right cord.

The price needs to be corrected on the game page though. ;)
I don't know... I love point & clicks, butthis one just looks... flat. No, no, it's not a pun, it's just that the premise doesn't sound particularly interesting, and the graphics and the setting jsut look super bland. It's not even that it's pixel graphics, but it's very dull pixel graphics. The lack of voice acting doesn't help imbue the game with personality either. I wonder what the correct price is, cause unless this is a particularly lenghty adventure, it looks like something I'd download for free from Adventure Game Studio.

Actually, the game is fully voiced, and the actors do an excellent job!

I believe that this developer is getting the most important things right:

+ There is no need to go on a pixel hunt because objects and items are clearly visible.
+ Dialogues can be skipped.
+ Clicking on an item or object allows the characters to comment on them, like when they say, "A statue of the tree of life. Unfortunately, it has been made of dead wood." Other characters will also warn you not to touch their stuff when you attempt to pick something up.
+ Actions are automatically displayed: "Look at" (magnifying glass), "pick-up" (a hand), "manipulate" (a wrench) and can be executed when hovering over an item.
+ The game also remembers the last action executed on an object. Once you have looked at an item, only the hand or wrench will appear, which is a real time-saver!
+ Some actions are automatically executed. For instance, clicking on the toilet will have our character open the lid to reveal something nasty. He will then examine what's wrong to discover that there is no water in the tank, so he can't flush it.

- One of the things that's missing is the ability to fast travel from one room to the next.

+- Regarding humor, it's a hit-and-miss, as is the graphics in this game. I like the allusions to a certain movie right at the beginning of it, and the graphics do look charming, if a bit oversized, though not as bad as you would find in Inspector Waffles.

These impressions are based on playing the demo, and I really liked it. This is certainly an adventure I can see myself playing once its been released.

Well if that's the case, then they might wish to do something about the trailer they put up here, because it clearly shows otherwise.
As much as Maniac Mansion sucks, I still love it for inspiring Ron Gilbert to start doing things right... and therefore the carnivorous plant in the trailer sends this game straight onto my wishlist. -=#>;-D
"Flabbington"?

What's next: black face?

Hard pass.

Yes, it's indeed unfortunate that the current trailer conveys the wrong impression about the presence of voice acting in the game. That's why I just made the suggestion at that other store It is important to address such misunderstandings early on to avoid confusion among potential buyers. Clear communication about the game's features can significantly impact its reception and success. Hopefully, the developer will take the suggestion into consideration and update the trailer or add a new one accordingly.

I wonder if this parodies the Blackwell series at all. I mean, it's an AGS game where the main character has a ghost sidekick, it would be weird if it didn't.

The term "flabby" is mainly used as a relatively insulting way of referring to someone as fat. There are technically other usages for it, but in practicality it's almost always as an insult, and usually for people. With the built-in assumption that the "flabby" person isn't just massively overweight, they're also soft and weak and lazy/slovenly, and probably disgusting in general.

The game might as well has been called "The Will of Arthur Fatslobington".

Now, is it possible the developers don't know that, missed the word completely (or saw a dictionary definition of "weak" and figured they have a ghost and ghosts are weak so it will be a cool wordplay, or somesuch) ? Maybe... ? I can't rule it out without anyone checking the game to see if they actually have more "jokes" on the same theme.

But considering they do admit to using a lot of toilet humor, and when trying to summon the uncle's ghost instead they get a different ghost which is... fat (and even much much more so in the banner image compared to the in-game image), and with one of the scenes in the trailer movie showing that ghost possessing someone who immediately claims to suddenly feel hungry... Well, assuming the devs did mean it as a fat joke, and feel comfortable making fat jokes in/with the game, is not an unreasonable assumption.

Yeah, it might have. And so what? Oh, no, a fat joke. Quick, let's get offended! Rant on twitter! Alert the National Guard! Go to DEFCON 1!

Nice to see that they made it.

I backed the game on kickstarter, the demo was quite nice.

As far as I can tell ... no. The tone in the demo was very different from what we saw in Blackwell.

Of course, since it's about ghosts, the one or the other parallel might be in the game, but that would also apply to the TV series Medium and the game with the same name.

GOG.com: Coming soon: The Will of Arthur Flabbington
Ngl: I have a hard time already understanding these three sentences, and their correlation to each other (especially the last two):

Bad news: only two people can recover the treasure, and you're not one of them.
Good news: these two people don't want to recover it.
Bad news: they hate each other and won't collaborate.

Also: "toilet humor" is now a plus?
You should have played the devs previous game "Kill yourself". It's hillarious. Not really a good game, but it shows a lot of interesting and sometimes hillarious ways to die.

The dev said that one player contacted him to tell him that it actually prevented him from doing it. He was looking on the net for ways to die and stumbled across the game and could not stop laughing and changed his mind.
True or not, it makes a nice anecdote.

I bought "Kill yourself" on itch.io for a few Euros. Sadly the itch page is set up in a way that it does not include taxes in the price, so if you want to buy it there, it's about ~40% more expensive than on Steam.

edit:
ps: Toilet humor can be absolutely a plus, check out Randal's Monday (and soon Tuesday). It also worked for Deponia, Sam & Max also featured it's fair share of toilet humor.

I missed a sarcastic one liner in Jedi Survivor. At some point you literally pull out some rare metal out of a toilet. I wished there was something like "Sometimes being a force user HAS it's benefits".
