Godlike freedom.

The Universim, an In-Development God-game where the success of your civilization depends on your planet management and anger management skills, is coming soon, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Your people have fire! Soon, they'll start building settlements, cities, impressive machines that drain natural resources, and eventually perhaps space-faring vehicles that will enable them to leave their mess behind. Want to encourage or punish their behavior? Use your godly Power or Wrath to shift the weather in their favor, help cure diseases, and bring meteors down on their ignorant heads. Give them the tools to reach greatness or watch idly as they blow things up - that's the godly way.
Each planet provides a unique ecosystem, wildlife, and dangers. Each civilization is bursting with limitless potential and constant temptations of self-destruction. What path will your guys walk? And what will happen when they encounter the mysterious aliens flying overhead?

Wishlist The Universim and rule planets full of unruly people, coming soon, DRM-free on GOG.com.

If done well this could finally be the god sim game I've been hoping for!
What is Universim, a combination of Spore, Populous and Sim City? Will you be able to terraform and colonize other planets, or the gameplay is strictly restricted to your own planet (until it blows up)? And what were those ships at the end? An alien invasion or your own armada? Can you form alliances with aliens and exchange technology?
(hehehe can you make a Starkiller Base out of your planet and blow the rest? :P)

We were told that we'll get GOG keys. That was nearly 3 years ago though, I hope nothing has changed in this matter.

This game has been on Steam for a long time and has seen NO UPDATES AT ALL.

So not sure why it's being added to GoG, because it seems to be abandoned on Steam.
On the Steam page it's been saying "Coming soon" for well over a year. I'm quite sure it's been in there for more than a year.

You have missed the whole 'Announcements' page there with info about constant updates. And the official site with news and updates.

Check facts first, then write a post if necessary. Or ask other people who might know more about the game.

The information on this game has just been confusing. Why even have it in Early Access for over a year when nobody can get it? And now it's gonna come to GoG soon to just sit and smell, or are they actually making it available?
And looking at the link you gave me, I'm not at all inspired by what I'm reading. They look to have at least a year more of development. So please, enligthen me as to why this game is "Coming soon" and in what state?

No, the info is clear, you're just confusing it. The game will be available to buy on GOG (and Steam) as Early Access in the near future. You will be able to buy it and play not yet finished product, the development continues until it reaches the final state and exits Early Access.

It's not available to buy yet, it's only announced for now - that's why it's in the 'Upcoming' tab. When it enters Early Access, you'll be able to buy it. Simple as that.

Speaking of 'sitting and smelling' - send some love to 'Crawl' which is is listed as 'Upcoming' since mid 2014 ;-)

Just wait a little bit and you'll be able to buy The Universim and play it as well as support the development :-)
