Ah, the Outer Wilds! I waited long for this ga... wait, what? Ah, it's New Vegas wannabe - pass!
Nice that it's coming to GOG finally, just don't have any expectations from it though and you will have an okay time

Ancient-Red-Dragon: The very same trend is also obvious in most other major releases in recent years, i.e. Baldur's Gate 3, and/or even it's predecessor, Divinity: Original Sin 2, and/or the Last of Us 2 and/or Horizon: Zero Dawn, and/or Dishonored 3, etc. etc. which are just a few of the more prominent examples, although there are countless others as well.
Wait, the girl from Zero Dawn is supposed to be unattractive? And the sexy elf from Original Sin 2 as well? Huh, you learns something new every day. Good thing we've got watchdogs like you, looking out for all such conspiracies.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: He has a totally legit point. I'm not sure why he got "low rated' for making it.
Well, I didn't know either untill you just explained it.

I'm so tired of this SJW vs SIG bullshit I wish I could downvote anyone bringing this up (on either side) a million times.

ReynardFox: Can confirm, I got it when it was free, Arkham Knight on EGS works perfectly without the Epic client.
avatar
kmanitou: So you can simply move the folder around and save it somewhere like you could a DRM-free game bought on itch or Humble?
Yes you can, in fact I made my own installer for it (Because GOG sure as hell hasn't delivered) and ran this installer on another PC with no EGS installed and it works 100%.

A "wannabe" of my all time #1 RPG versus the latest hyped indie game...hmmm...I know what one I'm picking, myself.

Drosa: What?

I thought for sure Microsoft would never allow this to happen.
avatar
mechmouse: MS bought a load of studios, under the contract those studios retain full creative control including distribution. Wasteland 3 is here in spite on the MS buy out.

I believe i have message from Ninja Theory saying they still could release via gog if they want.

With obsidian also releasing here too, it looks good for the future.

It would be even better if it cause MS execs to consider releasing their games here.
Oh, that would be awesome if more MS games come here.

Thing is, I think Private Division published this one on PC, not MS.
We know MS is involved w/ The Outer Worlds b/c they bought Obsidian, but to what extent?

Pygmalion_4678: Yes, you can. :)

That's the reason I've got it at Epic as well.

But I prefer a GOG installer and as mentioned before, Origins is still missing as a DRM-free version.
Fascinating. Maybe they don't see it as a selling point, so many people don't know this.

fronzelneekburm: Hard pass
Likewise. It wasn't as good as I was expecting. Probably should've guessed with how much turnover Obsidian has had since New Vegas came out.

Without wasting too much of your time on me, could you simply mention what is involved in making this happen?

Tell Developers and publishers to stop ruining their games with sjw bs and we'll stop talking about it.

For my own installer? I just used WinRAR's self extracting archive feature. Select all files in the game folder, right click 'add to archive, tick 'Create SFX archive' then click SFX options under the advanced tab to set up stuff like shortcuts, installer banner, icon, title and info etc.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: He's upset because they were clearly deliberately drawn in such a way so as to make them aesthetically unattractive, as that is what most major game devs do nowadays,
This is Obsidian we are talking about, I think it's probably due to their total inability (like Bethesda) to design a 3D character that doesn't look like 12th generation inbreed rejects rather than any sort of political agenda. They were already making unattractive looking characters long before it become "cool", I didn't check but if it's anything like Skyrim or Oblivion there is probably tons of mods to fix that..

GOG.com: ...
What? Surely you'd rather have people buy it through Epic Games Store and make less money; this isn't very Hitlerish of you GOG /s

Glad to see this coming soon, I know it's high on the wishlist!
low rated
It's already DRM free on EPIC.

NuffCatnip: Good game, it's on the short side sadĺy.

kotcore: main quest is kinda short i guess, if you're doing side stuff it's about 40 hours though, standard rpg time isn' it?
40 hours isn't too bad, but the areas are pretty small (plus, there's only a hand full) and condensed. There isn't a lot to explore.

But then again, quality over quantity. :)
