Hell's bells.

The Church in the Darkness™ is coming soon DRM-free.

It started as a way out. A different path, away from the corruption and decay spreading across the US like a disease. But here in the jungles of South America, whispers of the cult's wrongdoings are getting stronger. Play your own way as you infiltrate the compound, interact with other members, discover clues, and navigate a constantly shifting narrative using stealth and guile.

So this is the "Jonestown" - simulator?
Likely inspired by Colonia Dignidad/Villa Baviera too.

I believe the game is actually about fighting the cult, a sort of stealth-tactical game, but I might be wrong.

Oh, so you play the part of Leo Ryan?

Sorry but is the title a typo? Not meant to be: 'The Church is the Darkness'?

Just remember, it's not suicide, it's a revolutionary act.

Sadly I'm old enough to remember the real thing. Though I was only 10. I have seen some documentaries on it.

Not really my cup of FlavorAid and I have such a huge backlog I likely won't get it, but the concept of being someone to fight against that is kind of appealing. Maybe I'll watch some gameplay to see how it actually is.

I was only two when it happened but I've read countless books and watched countless shows about it.
I watched one today in fact.
Hey, my avatar seems relevant to this! :)

As far as Jonestown-inspired horror games go, I hope this one will do a much, much, MUCH better job than the abysmal Outlast 2 (which squandered its potential on an inane story that was merely an excuse for tons of cheap, adolescent shock horror). There is so much potential for compelling drama there, I hope the devs will be able to harness some of that. Then this might actually be a good game.

Very interesting premise. But why the top down perspective? Are we controlling a squad or just a single person?
