amok: the original textures of the banners in the PC version did not have swastikas
avatar
MarkoH01: Correction: The officially RELEASED original textures on PC did not have those. We don't know what original material exists and when exactly they decided to censor the game.
there can onlly be one original set of tectures....The first release iss the original version, this and this version only....it is the original copy. So there is only one set of original sets of textures, and that is in the first, orignially and offically RELEASED version of the game.... you can not really spin this in any other way.... the original pc version (which is the he officially RELEASED version... it is in the name here) and all their textures within this version did not have banners (or textures of banners if you want) with swastikas.... that is the original PC version, and it is the only original and officially RELEASED version.... there are no other pc versions that can be said to be original... can I say this in any other way?

Will the originals be removed as usual?

Daedolon: Will the originals be removed as usual?
Good question, let's hope they include the originals. A lot of the remastered games here usually include them in the goodies...

Gotcha!

When will the achievements be added to the GOG version of Ion Fury?

amok: if you wanted a pc version, it was released from day one without the swasticas. so you do not want an version which is not censored (as it does not exist) you want the console version
Even with that being true, I don't see why that's good excuse for the Terminal Cuts to retain the censorship. They easily could have & should have 100% uncensored the game on PC now, even if it had never been uncensored on PC before.

If they didn't do that, then it means these Terminal Cuts are a tainted version.

no, it makes Terminal Cuts and enchanced PC version, not and enhanced console version.
I wonder why the teaser trailer only shows stuff from the second game.

That argument is just playing with semantics in order to 'justify' censorship of this game.

Contrary to what your argument is implying, the original PC version having been censored does not actually provide any reasonable justification whatsoever for this new so-called "definitive version" also to be censored.

If they let the Terminal Cut be censored too, then that's a new act of them unnecessarily re-bending the knee, to the great detriment of all their customers.

They ought not to do that. And if they are doing it, which seems to be the case based on everything I'm reading in this thread so far, then that's a shameful act on Ziggurat's and Terminal Reality's part.

From purchase, yeah. However. They might be included as extras when the new versions come out, like we've seen with Crystal Caves and Baldur's Gate. Also, if you already have them, they'll stay in your library.

absoluttely your choice, and I dount it will be very detrimental, this is so minor that it is ridicilous you must really itch to see swastikas on a banner.

and in any case, if they are working on the PC version, then they are working on the PC version. It never had those swastikas , ever, so it is what it is

There was/is a texture pack available for the first game that replaced the censored textures with uncensored ones. It was posted in the "BloodRayne series" subforum.

aye, there are several such packs from different modders. but the point here is that the original, as intended, pc version did not have them. so the question is to what degree is it censored when they never was tere to start with. you can then start arguing that all games are censored becuse they do not have something you wanr them to have.

My point is when modders are able to do this then the original developer should definitely be able to do it too. Also things have changed a lot since 2002. Games with swastikas are often allowed now in Germany when the context of the game shows that these symbols are not just there to glorify nazis and this game is definitely not glorifying them as you fight against them just like in the Wolfenstein games. There's no reason to keep Bloodrayne 1 censored anymore except for devs being lazy which doesn't seem to be the case when you take a look at the list of things that have been for this updated version of the game.

modders can do what they want, they can change any texture, change that banner into a pink lollipop if they want.. My point all through is not what is or is not possible. Are they restoring the original PC version? if yes, then there was no swastikas on the banners in the original PC version. If no, then... what version are you restoring?

Just judging from looking at the screenshots on the store page I would assume that they used the PC version as the base frame.
