MadalinStroe: Since I shouldn't have to mess around searching on each game's store page, I'll post this information here, which should have been part of the OP anyway, GOG! The new editions bring the following improvements:

Support for higher display resolutions (up to 4K / 3840×2160)
Improved rendering with up to 4x anti-aliasing
Upscaled cinematic videos
Support for modern gamepads (XInput controller support)
Improvements to lighting at engine level, plus fully reprocessed lighting data
Engine improvements to support uncompressed original textures
Improvements to effects such as reflections, water, fog, and shadows
Localizations include:
BloodRayne: Fully voiced with localized interfaces in English, French, Italian, Spanish
BloodRayne 2: Localized interface and subtitles for English, French, German, Italian, Spanish
Optimized for Windows 10
Thank you! :)

See Gog, its not really that hard.

joppo: Me too. But since I'm not overly optimistic I'm already downloading the old versions.

Hopefully they will stay, at least as goodies.
I will do that too.

I have a feeling that being a bit sloppy became their trademark ;)

amok: if you wanted a pc version, it was released from day one without the swasticas. so you do not want an version which is not censored (as it does not exist) you want the console version
Which simply means it was censored from day one - it does not really matter if there ever was an uncensored version. These games try to be better than the original PC versions so it really would be nice if they would revert this stupid censorship as well.
Aw yeah. :D

MaxFulvus: I'm excited like a virgin for her first date !
But what about the original versions ? Still available as separate entries ? As goodies ? Or removed ?

I want an answer from GOG.

I doubt that GOG would remove the games from your library even if they would stop selling the originals and therefore removing them from the store. So probably no need to get panicked. They did such things with some bonus materials (which I still think is a shame) but I cannot remember them removing an actual game you paid for from the library.

You are talking to the same guys that simply won't understand that they lose money in each sale when they don't offer a "sort by discount" filter ... the same guys who refuse to unblock the Mortal Kombat Trilogy in Germany and make money with it even though it's not a problem anymore to buy it in Germany and that's a proven fact. They simply don't want to make money ... there's no other reason which would make any sense ;)

so then the question is - is this an enchanced version of the PC game or the colsole games? If ithe former, then the banners do not have swastikas, if the latter thy do. Keep in mind that the PC version was graphically superior to the console versions, especially the gamecube one. pick your poison

Oh I'm not worried that they would remove the games, as much as I'm just taking a precaution in case they replace them with the new version... and then a few days later the reviews come in saying that it wasn't a change for the better or the new version is buggy AF.

Again, I hope the old versions will be accessible one way or another. But until we get some confirmation I'm just being cautious.

Did they ever replace a single game in your library with another for which they made a new gamepage? I am pretty sure it would not happen this time as well. They might replace the store pages but not your library entrys.

According to everything we know it is an enhanced version of the PC version - however they also are talking about ORIGINAL textures .... hope dies last and I'll keep my fingers crossed that they are really trying to deliver the best version possible with everything they can use. If modders can bring back the original textures into the PC version I am sure those guys could do it as well - it's not exactly rocket science :)

Censorship ist ONLY a part of the first game. Second game was ONLY censored in germany (cuts to violence), so there is no problem there.

Part 1 was MOSTLY cut (PC worldwide, XBOX europe-wide), only gamecube and PS2 was uncut worldwide. We only talk Swastikas here.

So there is no real "correct/incorrect" here, as far as I know BOTH versions were approved by the developers in the end. Quite funny indeed, even the three-part Swastika is not allowed in germany. So both versions were quite bad here. ^^

I must say, bring the BETTER version. Could live with both versions.

the original textures of the banners in the PC version did not have swastikas

edit - the modders did not bring them back, so to speak, but replaced them. Same as modders can replace any other texture with something else

You're right, Markho. We don't even need to look too far back. The Neighbours from Hell remaster last month didn't replace the original two, but went in my library as a third game card. Same for the enhanced versions of Baldur's Gate, the upgraded version of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Where GOG has replaced a game card, like with Original Sin 2, it has kept the non-enhanced version as a downloadable.

They did this with SiN Gold. Version 1.11 (latest official from Ritual Entertainment) was replaced with version 1.13 (reworked by Nightdive).

idbeholdME: Makes me wonder if the original download will still be available or we're gonna be stuck only with the updated version.
Yeah, I'm downloading the offline installers just in case!

amok: the original textures of the banners in the PC version did not have swastikas
Correction: The officially RELEASED original textures on PC did not have those. We don't know what original material exists and when exactly they decided to censor the game.

Interesting (and troubling) - thanks for the info.
