See how the legend was born. Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One is coming soon DRM-free on GOG.COM.

In this story-driven adventure game you must join young Sherlock Holmes as he struggles to prove himself on an exotic, dangerous island in the Mediterranean. There, he must investigate the mystery of his mother’s death.

Holmes, yes, but not Watson. They haven't met yet. Although according to the game's page, his name is Jon (then again. the "but who is he really" bit implies that his real name is almost certainly going to turn out to be James...)

According to developes page, this is not John Watson but new character( also named john), and game happens to be SH origin story .

i dont know what to think about it, althrought Mediterranean setting sound interesing

I thought that was supposed to be coming to GOG next month, but now I can't find any mention of it....

As someone who read all the Sherlock Holmes books, I can't think who this "Jon" might be who would be remotely interesting to Sherlock fans. It would have been better to put Mycroft as the sidekick before he got old and fat, and maybe it can also be the origin story of how he got so lethargic. I mean, Mycroft makes sense, it would be his mother's death too being investigated if Sherlock's mom died.

I also love that game, In my opinion whole concept of smaller adventures suits game well and remind me original Sherlock Holmes short stories.

I was surprised when I saw the GOG logo at the end of the reveal trailer. I hope this bodes well for The Sinking City being released here soon.

Hmmm... trailer does not reeveal any gameplay and it seems as it supernatural forces are invvolved which I would rather not see in such a game. Most important for me though, what is this with "Chapter One"? Is this an episodic game?

Judging from the trailer only, I think it's pretty obvious that "Jon" guy is some kind of imaginary friend or even Sherlock's subconscious. (No I do not know anything about the story, just wild guessing!)

In the cemetary scene, see how he appears / disappears between consecutive camera changes?

Also, in the scene where they run towards the noise, Sherlock looks at the other guy for confirmation before entering. I mean, THE Sherlock Holmes does not need anyone's confirmation to do anything except his own. So he must be Sherlock's "creation".

Just my 2 cents...

It got epic’d, I.e removed from sale everywhere apart from epic.

Looks ok, might be ok. These Sherlock Holmes games tend to be very hit and miss, mainly miss. Will see how it progresses x note it’s only chapter 1 of ??

Interview question about Jon:
Imagine the best friends who have been together since childhood. Sherlock grew up with John, and now they don’t spill water. John is not as smart as Sherlock, but brave, faithful and with a good sense of humor. Sarcasm is inherent in him, and he will not miss the moment of pricking and prying Sherlock. In general, the relationship between John and Sherlock and their development over the course of the plot will become one of the key themes. Chapter One.

John, by the way, is not just a narrative element – he can also help with research, notice an interesting attraction that you missed on the city streets, etc.

We also have plans to make sure that John’s attitude towards Sherlock is formed under the influence of some player decisions. We haven’t finalized this system yet, but we plan to make John become his best friend into a man who openly despises the main character.
