ChrisGamer300: Well it doesn't sound all that promising does it ? perhaps they will get to make their game sometime in the next decade, i just hope everything will work out for them eventually.

Swedrami: Unless they (hopefully) find a publisher willing to put funds towards finishing and wrapping up development.
And even then we might look at a release in (late) 2021/2022 at the earliest.
Why don't they do an early access for this and get needed funds to finish the project. I know
for a fact they released a combat beta for kickstarter patrons back in the Spring. That seems like
it would get the project done faster to have additional support by releasing it in early access.

Maybe they're not into this whole "releasing an unfinished product but gladly taking the full price for it" thing.
Yet another KS looking for a publisher/investor. I thought the idea of KS was to avoid having a middle man to get games done etc?.
At least its "Coming Soon" on GOG right?.

Niggles: anyone got an update?
From the comments section on the KS page:
"Project is still being worked on, albeit on a part time schedule. Look up on their Discord channel, it’s active."
So they're out of funds...
Is this gonna be another botched KS.

Honestly it's been so long since the first time I had seen this. It'll be like all the other KS projects I had my eyes and forgot about, only to see them release way later and me finding some other game in the meantime.

They ran out of Euro 120.000 KS money and Bavarian state funds of Euro 100.000

Developers have come up with an alternative plan to make money so they are able to finish Realms Beyond. They plan on building and selling small Adventure-Modules. As long as they can't find and contact their general manager whose gone missing, without his okay, they will not be able to release the game. Whether this plan is going to pan out, to be able to keep going a little while longer until eventually the situation with the general manager can be resolved, they will announce in or around March.

The odds against them are stacked quite high ... Let's wish them best of luck so they be able to see this project through.

Wait, what? As in blocking contact from the others or literally declared missing?

Having skimmed some info...

The team had almost exhausted all KS and approx 1/2 government funds when the team found an investor who had resources to see the project to completion and market. But... the co-owner / dev turned down the offer. Since then -- approx 3 months ago -- the team has not been able to contact him and cannot move forward without him.

That's how I understand the threads I read
Good job to the Bavarian government for supporting this CRPG, finally a government using their revenue for a good purpose.

In Germany all sorts of game projects receive funds local or state funds to support development. Games like Suzerain for instance or Growbot to name two were funded by the BMVI (Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure) Ultimate ADOM: Caverns of Chaos also received funds but it isn't certain whether it will be released here - so far I only heard Steam.

Here is a list of funded games some upcoming some already released some of which I would love to see here - DSK Adventure (The black cat - Adventure) a spin-off of DSA/The black eye, with, well, cats. :-) For the curious cat German only - sorry -

"Projekt Suesskartoffel," the next big thing of Mimimi Games, Shadow Tactics, Desperados III, should be interesting as well. Nothing is known about this one so could be anything but most likely it's going to be another fine tactics game. ;-)
