Prepare for a spooky and quite scary 3D platformer in which you embody Jack, the Mythical Pumpkin Lord. The thrilling Pumpkin Jack game is coming soon DRM-free on GOG.COM. Dive into the otherworldly, cartoon-like landscape and help evil prevail over good with the help demonic weapons and companions.
Yessssss
This looks interesting. I will keep an eye on it, but there's nothing to do until it releases.

I want to note however that the game card describes "first and foremost a platformer", but the screenshots don't show a single platform. If I had to guess based on them I'd say this is a hack & slash.

Those screenshots show literally nothing.
Judging from the screenshots, it certainly has a certain MediEvil vibe.

It really is strange that they wouldn't even include any kind of trailer like this one.
So getting this! Gives me extreme Medievil vibes with a dash of Nightmare Before Christmas.
Looks good enough, not sure how interested it's getting me, but... yeah, nice to get this here.

Like others said before, the screenshots don't show much, the trailer Mr.Mumbles linked to is of what's clearly a very early work in progress (at least I hope so). The color palette is definitely nice, I'm not really sold on the semi-amateurish graphics. The trailer still doesn't make it feel like a 3D platformer, it honestly still looks like more of a brawler/gunner.

My main issue, though, is the poor English used in the game's page. I get this guy is as "indie" as it gets, but, come on... can't you at least get a friend in the gaming community with a minimum grasp of the English language to write the game's blurb/description for you? Because, when your screenshots are so vague and downright abstract, at least make sure you're being clear when you write up the game's official description. Lots of "reflection" required to play it, so you better get a mirror, I guess?

Then there's stuff like "help Evil win over Good", which just makes me cringe hard. Sure, it was cool when I was 14, but at this point in my life it just comes across as way too edgy.

[EDIT] Mind you, as a Romance language native speaker, myself (going by the name, I assume the dev is French?), I get the whole "reflection" thing, they mean this is not a game that you can breeze through, thought is required, it's probably "complex" and not just a "mindless platformer". Thing is, sometimes all you need to do is a mindless, fun platformer. Honestly, I'm so tired of developers trying to do "complex" with things that work great as they are. A Hat In Time is probably the best 3D platformer in recent memory, and all they did with it was developing a GOOD game. You don't need to make complex stuff just to appeal to whatever demographic. Just make fun games. Not all horror games need to be "Lovecraftian", not all action-adventures need to have "survival and RPG elements", not all platformers need to be "deep and complex", not all metroidvanias need to be Souls-likes, not all walking sims need to have "deep puzzle elements or people will complain about them not even being games". A lot of times games just need to be fun.

I don't know... While somewhat interesting, it looks rather amateurish. I'm not sure if the "inspired by the classic PS2 graphic style" is genuine or just a way to handwave how cheap the graphics look.

And yeah, I'm not too terribly keen on the whole, "serve the devil, help Evil destroy good" angle. I assume it's done tounge-in-cheek, but even so, I've seen a few games try that already, and it never worked for me, but that's more of my subjective peeve.

The announcment trailer here on Steam looks much better.

The trailer does look better, but, sadly, it looks way more like an action-adventure with "Souls-inspired" precise combat than a pure platformer. At least they made the graphics less blurry and more consistent, I guess? At least for the first trailer.

I guess this game is just not for me, which is fine. Too much of an homage to Nightmare Before Christmas, not to mention the whole "playing an evil dude trying to overthrow the good guys", both of which come across as extremely cringey. Sounds like a 16 year-old emo edgelord decided to have a go at making a video game, to me...

Nah, way too much color for that, and not nearly enough blood, guts and angst. I think Mortal Shell looks way more like a 16 year old edgelord's game.
Seems a bit odd this one. Definitely does look and sound a lot like a PS2 game (albeit not a very good one ATM).
This looks interesting. To the Wishlist it goes.

Yeah, when I see them I immediately thinking about a crossover with MediEvil is needed. Now we just need an action game starring robed grim reaper and we can have our own expanded universe.
