eric5h5: That only works for single-character RPGs. Not party-based RPGs. Games like Dragon Age Origins try to compensate by having elaborate programming for companions, but if I want programming games I'll play something by Zachtronics, not a RPG.
I think it worked very well for BG, Icewind Dale and Planescape Torment
No linux support?
Really looking forward to this! Wishlisted.
Thank fuck it's not an InDev title, thank you OwlCat for bringing it over here! Can't wait to play this!
This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Wishlisted.

Martek: That's the way to do it!

Ancient-Red-Dragon: No it's not. Pure TBS with no RTWP whatsoever is actually the way to do it.

Last time someone tried to make a "hybrid" RTWP/TBS game, that was Pillars of Eternity 2, which ended up having a heavily botched TBS mode which was unable to be implemented properly, because truly it had RTWP mechanics way too firmly embedded into its core structures.

I suspect all the same will probably be true of this new Pathfinder game.
Kingmaker implemented the two styles perfectly.

Edit: typo

Which reminds me I still have to finish Kingmaker :)

I haven't gotten around to replaying PoE2 with TB mode yet. Could you elaborate on how the TB mode is botched?

Me neither ;)

Lol. I was just thinking the same thing. I’m super excited about this title.
Does this one have the kingdom management stuff? Loved the original and finished it, 150 darn hours, but could realllllly go without the kingdom management, which was largely an annoying waste of time.

Kingdom management is completely omitted in this one :)
They said they will introduce some other mechanic instead of it, but they´ve been very mysterious about what it will be, hopefully it wouldn´t be anything pesky.

Honestly, I think they shouldn´t introduce anything, just let the pure RPG stuff there.

Thank you sir, and yes I agree. It just felt like busywork to me which distracted from what a great RPG it was.

Instead of managing a kingdom you'll be in charge of an army, as far as I know. Your alignment and the mythic path you choose will influence this part.
Great to see this here, but I hope it will also be supported on Linux (sadly that point was omitted in the Kickstarter this time).

The first one is a great game, and like some others in here, I greatly prefer such games to be played in real-time with pause mode. Combat is properly chaotic, everything happens simultaneously, so people who say bullshit like no attention spam can really take a look in the mirror. Combat is 10 times more hectic in RTWP, and that's the way I like it. "Trash" encounters doesn't take 40 minutes either, which is kinda nice...

Anyway, I look forward to this game, and hope it will be at least as good as the first game. I actually rather liked the kingdom management, so I wonder what they will replace it with. The mechanics I mean. Presumably something similar, but with army management instead. We'll see...
