Are you enjoying this year's Gamescom? Here's one of the hot announcements from this extraordinary video game event. In Overboss you shape a new land and bend it to your will in order to become the ultimate ruler of monsters!
Genre: Strategy

Enjoy GOGalicious deals on unforgettable titles during The GOG Sale that will last until 5th September 2022, 10 PM UTC.
Look's an interesting take on the card/tile based strategy genre, with a bit of turn-based city building thrown in for good measure. Not my usual type of game, but the various combinations have piqued my interest. Wish-listed...
Looks interesting... I've wishlisted this for now.
More boardgame adaptations, for one that isn't out yet in cardboard. :P
Is this a version of AutoChess?

GOG.com: Coming soon: Overboss
Ok, first things first: I like good pixel art. And the artwork shown is good.

But...(and I am aware, this may come over as nitpicking) I also have to say, putting these (way too rough pixelated) big character sprites on top of the high definition screens, doesn't work for me.

This is one of the rare cases, where I would've preferred, if they had used the graphics shown in the video thumbnail, respectively the banner, for their on-screen character sprites.
A video game, inspired on a board game, inspired on a video game. Now that's full circle.
Overboss has been released today .

Looks like GoG's not been provided with a releasable build by either the developer or the publisher yet:

Neat looking title, I'll have to keep an eye on it.
There was for a moment news about release on Friday, but it "mysteriously" disappeared (on game's page it was still "coming soon").
Looking at the Steam reviews, this game was not ready for release in the slightest. Might not be a bad idea to wait on a Gog release until the game is in a decent state.

It was announced two years ago. Solo indie dev or no, it may just not be a competently designed game. Sometimes bad games happen and you come to a point where you have to decide between releasing or redoing months or years of work.
