Tried the first one. Gave up when I realised people can see in the dark. So stupid.

Didn't expect such a detailed answer, to be honest. :P
Probably regionally priced, too bad, I did like the first one. Felt a bit repetitive towards the end but it ended soon around that so it was well balanced.
Oo, I like the setting! This could be quite good. They've got a polished game engine already with the first title, so this should be lovely.
The first one (and a half) game was the most stress-inducing game I've ever played. Looking forward to it!
thanks, wishlisted
Aaaand there I was happy as heck when I read Outcast 2! YAY!
;P

But it turned out to be a nay. A deep, scary, pantshattin' nay ;(

You asked for it. ;D

By the way, thanks for making sure the trailer links are neatly embedded in the news posts maladr0Id. :)

I guess I should be more careful next time.. ;)
Wasn't a fan of the first one, but I kinda hope it includes a Connect listing of the first at launch, even if it wasn't really my style I feel great joy in moving games from my Steam library to the "GOG Replaced" category :)
I don't really understand all the praise for the first Outlast here, especially when people start comparing it to Silent Hill. Outlast is a decent Horror game overall, but it's not in the same league ( or sub-genre, for that matter ) as Silent Hill 2 or other genre classics.

I could make a fairly long list of things which bothered me about Outlast 1, but none the less I'm curious about its sequel. Here's hoping they refined the basic formula of the first game, and managed to add some more depth and diversity to the gameplay.

How soon is "soon", anyhow? Any official release date?

Play the demo, it's pretty much worse in every way so far. :P

So far I was cautiously optimistic about the sequel... But now I'm not so sure. XD

What did they change? Is the game a little less linear than the first? Did they improve the "free running", add any weapons, items or other new gameplay elements?

And the demo isn't on GOG, is it? I hope they'll provide demos here more often. The Shadow Tactics demo is really good.

It's been a while but... they've upped the jumpscares like locking you in a corridor until a ghost suddenly pops up on your screen. I'm pretty sure the FOV is lower than in the first game. Looking through the camera the green filter is even stronger now. More gore for no reason right at the start.

They've added ghosts.

Gore for no reason might as well be the tagline of the series. There were so many piles of mutilated bodies in the first game, there was a certain humorous aspect to it after a while.

From what I've read, the ghosts in Outlast 2 might just be hallucinations of the main character... ?

Anyhow, any noteworthy changes to the gameplay?
