No Man's Sky: Beyond free content update is coming DRM-free on August 14th.

Jumpstart your engines by getting No Man's Sky 50% off until August 21st, 5 PM UTC.

Beyond will contain three major updates rolled into one larger free release. These changes are a mix of features Hello Games have been dreaming of for a while, and a reaction to how they have seen folks playing since the release of NEXT.

An expanded online experience will bring a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together. Meanwhile, VR support will bring the entire game experience to life in virtual reality. Anything possible in No Man’s Sky, NEXT or any other update will soon be ready and waiting as an immersive and enriched VR experience.
This game went from Zero to Hero. Nice comeback story.

ChrisGamer300: I guess this is a good time to buy it and try for myself, i hope it's worth it for 50% off and has improved enough.

falloutttt: game is absolutely fantastic!

I play it since day 1, and it only got better and better with every update.
There'll never be a game more fun to hate. I got my money's worth and didn't drop a dime. lol

Tarhiel: Aren´t there some console commands, so you can spawn these items and move on?
Of course, that wouldn´t guranatee there aren´t other things that might be incompatible between your saves and newer versions.

fisk0: I haven't found anything like that, only seen a few people mentioning hex-editing their save files to give themselves the missing blueprints, but I'm not sure I'm up for that.
Just nab the No Man's Sky Save Editor, once you have that load up your save and go to the Discoveries Tab, add product, and just pick whatever blueprint your missing, go to save file and exit. Then load up the game and you'll have the blueprint you need.

I am only interested in solo play, so this is the smallest update from Hello Games, not the largest, as far as I am concerned. And while you have the right to be concerned about multiplayer and VR, I am just hoping we at least get the solo play stuff, because I am worried it's a case of "all or nothing".

Well in solo we're getting a new NPC race, NPCs will walk around on planets and in stations and give new missions, more NPC languages to learn, Ships have been scaled up for VR so they look larger and better, farming animals will be a thing like milking them, you will also be able to tame and ride them, base building has been expanded so bigger bases, more base parts, Logic blocks and 'wiring' / new automation are being added, Power and electricity have been added, you will be able to cook and discover recipes, new discoveries menu, new galactic map, you can now sit on chairs, uh and there was some other stuff but that's off the top of my head. Check out the subreddit r/NoMansSkyTheGame for a bunch of the latest info

Sean being Sean, he spoiled the beans about that in the IGN interview lol. I feel like they should've hyped up the third 'pillar' of the update a bit more since that actually makes a great difference in the gameplay. All those single-player enhancements easily beat VR + Multiplayer, but it's an amazing synergy between updates none the less. Can't wait.

Thank you! I'll check that out!
I've been playing No Man's Sky since launch, and I've never stopped playing. With every update I play more and more. I've clocked in hundreds of hours and many of that has been exploring, fighting pirates, finding a fleet, but mostly I've sunk time into base building. I've played so many games where you can build bases, and I find No Man's Sky to be very robust in that area, but also challenging and at the same time rewarding. I made a massive industrial and agricultural complex in a tranquil world in Eissentam. It has every plant you can grow (up until now), and many medium and large refineries, carbon-producing plants lining most corridors, a tower resembling a Japanese pagoda that houses a large supply of Geknip (and more carbon), my very own supply depot, an underground complex of laboratories and bedrooms, but most of it is situated a few levels above ground and stretches over a large ocean in three directions. It also goes under the water, which is my favorite addition. In Beyond I plan to start from scratch after (hopefully) a base wipe, I'l make an even better, larger base. I can't wait!

See the evolution this game has undergone:

7.) And if you don't mind seeing Sean Murray divulge new info on the update yet to come:

The best part? No microtransactions. An often discounted game. Endless content that keeps getting deeper and more lucrative. This game isn't meant to be instant gratification, but it can be rewarding to those who understand how far it's come.

That just turns NMS into more a management game rather than a sci-fi exploration game it was intended to be. So, for me, farming, ranching, food distributor and industry building manager are not sci-fi features but more "Sim City" type.
