Knowing the dev specializes in puzzle games actually makes me a bit wary - based on that, I would expect strong level design but poor persistent systems and replay value. The barebones game page doesn't do anything to alleviate that.
Oh yeah, it'll end up in my shopping cart on the release day! :-)

Carradice: Unless there are similar turn-based games in post-WWII scenarios that I do not know of (if you do point them my way!)

fisk0: Sadly not on GOG, but Every Single Soldier made two good ones over the last few years called Vietnam '65 and Afghanistan '11. They were both published by Slitherine, so it certainly would be possible for them to get released on GOG too.
Thanks for mentioning them Yes, I eyed them. If they come to GOG, I might get Afghanistan '11. They are focused on asymmetrical warfare. On the other hand, Möbius is as symmetric as it can be.... The US army of the cold war fights itself, instead of having the very asymmetric conflicts that happened in real life.

GA01: Also published by Slitherine are "Armored Brigade" and the more hardcore "Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm Player's Edition".
Interesting titles, thanks. Although they are real time games, possibly they have active pause? The lack of that killed Wargame: European Escalation for me. Armored Brigades looks like it wants to be a good game, although some reviews on GOG mention that the single player campaign is not too good. On the other hand, Möbious looks like it wants to be a polished single player experience. Let us see!

Carradice: So after covering assembler programming, electronic devices, alchemy, hacking... they came with a wargame.

ZFR: Don't forget their Ironclad Tactics

Thanks for pointing that out! I had not realized it was one of their titles. This game got some flak and I shyed out of getting it for that reason. I wonder if eventually it improved.

From the screen captures, it seems that at least some of the mini-games that come with the title as a plus include a "programmable radio" and maybe other thinking stuff. So as to show it is a Zachtronics game :)

About the main dish... If the single player is good, I do not ask for anything else. There might be some thinking, taking into account the strengths and weaknessess of the elements in the army, and manuals are there to read... Very different to a mad rush approach like in many real time games... Maybe there is some thinking element to it? maybe some tactical engagements in the game feel a bit like a puzzle? Well, the Panzer General saga (including People's General) was heavy on that sometimes. Same about a great, less known title, M.A.X.

I do not mind that the game wants me to think. What I would like is that:

1) Sound general strategy rules take you far,
2) Knowing your equipment well will help a lot (that is the same as the enemy's, so you have to study only one army list). The game might ease things for those who prefer not to study that much by introducing different units sequentially, in the tested-and-true traditional way since Dune II.
3) If there are situations that require thought-intensive approach, a variety of solutions should possible (as in other Zachtronics games), instead of a single one, or a variety that differ in details only.
Sadly, not released yet.
Does anyone has more information about it ?

Zachtronics has never been very friendly to GOG, so maybe they gave up on it after seeing even the lukewarm reception on Steam.

It was the other way around, GOG were unfriendly with Zachtronics. When GOG finally deigned to release Opus Magnum we haven't had a problem with subsequent Zachtronics games coming here so it doesn't sound like he bears a grudge.
The lukewarm reception probably plays a bigger role though. I imagine either GOG has changed their mind, or Zachtronics is trying to improve the game before releasing it here so they can treat this release as a sort of 'relaunch'.

That might make sense.
Möbius Front '83 got a massive update today, which includes a new campaign, but also a multiplayer mode. I assume that the impkementation of multiplayer may take longer to implement on gOg
