Memories over troubled water.

Lake Ridden is coming soon, DRM-free to GOG.com.
You had a fight, as siblings often do. Now your little sister ran off into the woods, away from the safety of your campfire. Explore the Maine wilderness, the large enigmatic estate within, and the curious stories told by its former inhabitants. You must solve puzzles, collect clues, and piece together the mysteries still haunting the place if you hope to reach your little sister.
This looks like it could be an interesting game.
This looks right up my alley, definitely watching for this one!
This is very compelling and looks like it could be good.

It makes me wish I played/liked puzzle games.
The game description cracked me up:

"It's not a walking simulator"

I might buy this game for that alone. That's gold.
Not a horror game? How can a game that is set in Maine not be a horror game? :P

HE lives in Maine, or at least used to. Who, you ask? The King, or course.

Exactly! ;)
Has Zeogold already seen this one? PUZZLES!
"Lake Ridden is a story-driven puzzle mystery, focusing on narration and atmosphere. It's not a horror game or a walking simulator."

Gotta give them props for trying to dispel any possible misconceptions about the game before it comes out. The walking simulator Firewatch comes to mind. I haven't played it but from the trailers it seemed like it would have some horror or at least thriller elements and the trailers seemed to play this up. Like there was someone stalking you in that forest or something. After it came out i read a lot of reviews that said the game story didn't go the way they expected. Maybe i'm wrong as i didn't want to look too deeply into it in case i played it myself one day, but i assume the thriller vibes from the trailer were bullshit and the story doesn't really go like that.

Also the music and narration in the first 20ish or so seconds gave me TLOU vibes for some reason.

Me too. It does actually look quite good, will keep an eye on this one.
I'm interested, but I can't tell if it's a full-movement or Myst-style point-and-click game.

Looks like they're using a 3D engine of some sort, so I'm guessing you have full movement?

Sorry, but I'm about to barf this link all over the most recent news posts because I think this topic deserves more visibility. Given my experiences with GOG during the past year users will be informed after the fact and in a footnote. So go get yourself informed:

Introducing new privacy settings (official "announcement")

You might also want to check your new privacy settings for the upcoming update. Because several users (including myself) had been set to default values that weren't intended - even by GOG.
