idbeholdME: Looked up some gameplay and it just looks like a single-player MMO. Is there more to the game?
The original was a bit like that. Large map, you can explore at leisure after a while. Felt a bit hollow and repetitive, so yes big mmo influence there. Did have some nice parts as well, so hopefully they have improved it more towards being a solid single player experience. I think the original was meant to be an mmo but changed due to some reason.
Figured this one would pop up here.

I have already on steam by few years now.

And that is the problem: so little interesting games that I'm shopping there nowdays.
And with humble bundle... GOG is becoming more and more a thing of the past... :(

gog2002x: Fantastic news! I still have my original retail copy, but will definetly buy this when it comes out.

Anyone have an idea when it may be coming out?
"Release date" on the store page says September 8.
awesome!
Thanks, should be a day one purchase for me. Very few games get that from me.
Awsome!
Release date on GOG: (probably not before) 8/8/2020, IF released on day1.
I thought EA owned this? How did THQ got it off their hands?

They bought the rights to the IP license 2 years ago. I'm curious though how that didn't include the original game...

They bought IP, but not publishing rights.
As a result: they can make (and sell) derivatives (remasters, sequels, etc.), but not sell the original version.

The main difference is that since it isn't net dependent the combat is more involved with combo's akin to a slower god of war

It's easier to think of it as babies first Skyrim with better combat, it has similar mechanics like lock-picking, crafting and such. It also has that skyrim effect where the dlc's are arguably better than the main game, like a society of posh giants that debate by beating the crap out of each other

Fun fact it was kinda gonna be an mmo at one stage but they scaled it back when they realized they were being too ambitious and killing their other projects and somehow they didn't make a half finished mess, which is rare indeed.
Long live THQ
Anyone else getting just a little tired of THQNordic's pun based titles for their remasters?

As for this game... it's strange. Nothing this game does is bad, all the mechanics work well... but there is absolutely no originality or identity, it's the single most generic 'medieval fantasy setting' game I think I've ever played, and ironically the only reason I remember it at all is because I can't remember anything about it other than I played it and it exists.
