tfishell: why didn't Huniecam ever show up?
To the impressions of many, it played and felt like a B team game, lacking much of the charm or anything the first Huniepot game had.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: HuniePop 1 is literally unplayable because it has unbeatable (at least for average, non-eSports-players) timed "bedroom puzzles" in which you have less than 5 seconds successfully to perform a move before the ludicrously-short timer goes all the way down to zero and therefore you lose all your progress in those puzzles.
Then I'm obviously an e-sport-pro (who'd have thunk) because I never had much trouble with those...

That's fair, though it does have a very good score on Steam and thousands of reviews. I think it should be here for folks.

Darvond: For those complaining about the censoring, you do realize that in Huniepop 1 it was simple as making a named dummy file, right?

Or are ya'll the dummy file here?
Call me clueless but why do games like this have censorship? Is it a ratings thing?

Probably. CDPR/GOG sp. z o.o. absolutely baffles me from a management perspective.
I think the censorship has something to do with germany. Look at the twatter for more info. Or, it could just be GOG...

IWhat could be most entertaining is how they handle the... trap... or not a trap? Dev specifically said they thought traps were popular among his audience since he did some research (Let's be clear, here, i don't think the dev is among his target audience, as implied by how he talked about this issue, not that it's a problem, but it's important to note). The trap question has "been answered:" (well, sorta) you'll be given an option at the beginning of the game on how you plan on dealing with the Trap: male or female body parts.

Now, for the controversial bit: it wasn't clarified whether this has anything to do with the trans community or not ('cause, well, you can be a trap without being trans). This could turn into the next controversy very quickly. I doubt there's a way to handle it that would make "both sides" happy.

Also, there's some shit going around about the VAs. When i looked into it, looked like a major nothingburger. There was an underage VA, that they didn't know was underage, so he got canned. One of the VAs got pregnant, so she leftthe project. Then, 1, 2, or 3 VAs lost their cool for unspecified reasons and took to twitter to raise hell. The dev then backed off of firing them, but we don't know the full story and likely never will. However, from what little i saw, it boils down to someone being super pissy about working overtime and went off the rails: if i read her words correctly, she hasn't even spent a full 24 hours total on the project, so i'm not all that concerned of it being any more than shit slinging because there's an NDA involved.

Maybe. Either way, it already caused controversy, and the dev seems really hate the controversy already, but i don't see it being quite over, yet. I'm actually curious how this goes at this point.
Sigh.
"trap" . Just choose female or male. Dont try to get trendy and go all transgender. Simple is best. Why cant people just do what has always been the case?. (bloody Warframe chat actually bans you for using the word "trap" in reference to gender of warframe Nezha)...

I think in an honest historical context there have been trans people in many/most societies. It seems to be peaking at this time but are you wrong on your first point, no I do not think so.

Am I a terrible person because I'm looking forward to this?

and btw, the first game is available on GOG in only a censored version as well

until you add that single-line text file to the root directory

Why would you be a terrible person for looking forward to this?

No, the controversy isn't the player character: it's one of the NPCs.

I'm actually thinking I might give the first one another whirl. Been ages since I played.

I got stuck on the two secret characters when the difficulty ramped up to absurd levels. Not sure if that was what the other poster in this thread was complaining about. It did get *really* hard for those two, lol.

Sabin_Stargem: Apparently there was a Titter or somesuch about the censorship is to be handled.
A Titter? Is that a tool which automatically creates that dummy file to cir-cum-vent the censorship? ;-P
