But he's rich inside. Or will be soon.

Hollow Knight, a wonderfully sordid action/platformer, hand-painted in charming 2D, is coming soon, DRM-free on GOG.com!

The world below is full of ancient cities, hidden treasures, and perilous passageways. Only a Hollow Knight can hope to dodge, dash and slash through the adorably creepy creatures dwelling there, while conquering the haunting remains of this forgotten kingdom.

No price, so probably regionally priced again... :/

Bigs: reative00 - Give it a rest. A game you want isn't on GOG. We get it. It's available DRM Free from https://pixeltrickery.itch.io/a-house-of-many-doors
But he's right to ask why it isn't released here. Gog sat on their no regional prices policy to get more game released here but suddenly they won't release another game for whatever reason?

Seems kinda dubious to me too.

Because GOG doesn't see the game having and revenue potential. That's the reason. That's always the reason.

Well done guys. You have lost my respect and Hearthlands is officially last game I've bought from you until you create clear rules about publishing games here because currently this is just odd, dumb and leave bad taste in mouth.

Games with less supporters on Kickstarter that got green light from GoG:

what jmich said, plus gog has to hand tweak every installer for every game they have in their catalogue. this requires long term maintenance as well. they require periodical updating and tweaking, all done by the gog team. this is how they keep many of the older games on here compatible with newer operating systems. so the man hours spent keeping a game tweaked and compatible with newer operating systems might not be worth it if they don't foresee the revenue stream being high enough.

Wishbone: Looking at the trailer, this looks like crap made by amateurs, with awful disjointed gameplay, and no consistent aesthetic.
For what it's worth I saw both trailers, and while I wouldn't be as harsh on the game as you, I'd at least agree that it's not something I'd put on my shortlist for indie game of the year. And while this is entirely subjective on my part, I wouldn't think it belongs on GOG, either.

The big problem I have is that it comes across as being...well, just Sunless Sea with rougher and less interesting graphics, with combat almost copied from FTL. It looks like you can even target specific rooms and systems, just like FTL. And that's really all there is to it. Even the in-game UI looks like it was cribbed from Sunless Sea. If I hasn't known about the game's connection to Failbetter, I would have thought it was a very lame clone of Sunless Sea, or a roughly-made mod.

Don't get me wrong, a game that's basically Sunless Sea mashed up with FTL should awesome on paper. But in practice it also has to be more than just the sum of its parts, if it wants to avoid being unfavorably compared to either game.

Very nice looks on this one, traditionally cartoonish.
The game card for this is weirdly ornate -- it has not only inline pictures (which is rare enough), but also these fancy little separators. I wonder if this kind of thing is entirely up to the dev/pub to provide, or what.

Looks similar to its Steam page, so I guess it's indeed up to the publisher.

If they count on the sole amount of games sold, why haven't they quit already and try to get hired at Valve instead?
Friendly reminder:
Complaining about how GOG doesn't have the game you want here will do exactly 0.000000001% of damage to the company. More often it has people wanting you to quit whining about it and actually give your opinion about the game itself.
I mean, look, I hate to be abrasive here, but on EVERY SINGLE release page, there's always SOMEbody inevitably dragging the whole thing into "This is indie/pixel/shovelware/[insert type of game I don't like here], therefore the entire thing is crap, GOG is crap, and the curation system is crap!" Then these are the same exact people, mind you, who'll complain about Steam how they let anything and everything in.
Come on, guys. Is this really THAT big of a deal?

(I'm gonna regret posting this, aren't I?)
