Yay, finally confirmed to release on GOG!

And also released to the forum.
Can't wait !! :)
This is one of those times they could have really added it as a preorder. I'm going to buy it come what may and ordering it right now removes one possible point of failure on release day...

...A point of failure, such as what, forgetting to hit the big "Buy" button? Needing to wait for an extra day because your 20 quid came in late?

Shop down. Credit card pulling a WTF card. Murphy's law can be really obnoxious when it's something you have been looking forward to for a long time.
I have to inform my social contacts.

Not available anymore for the next year.

Social WHAT??

I'm more concerned with work obligations (already booked PTO for next week, unless something serious happens).
Hang on. Is this a DLC or a standalone game ?

If it’s a DLC - for a game released in the year 2016 - then just (how can I say this politely ?) f*ck off ?

I never the bought the game to begin with, partly because of the genre and partly because of the “no discount ever” adopted by the devs / pubs (whichever),

And now this…

Is it actually possible for this industry to become less creative (artistically) and more corrupt (morally) ?

Indeed, it is downloadable content.

Also, with regard to the pricing of the main game, I share your frustrations.

It's a game that started a whole GENRE. Game where you can sink 1000s of hours and not feel like you wasted that time.
Game getting free updates and bugfixes for the whole time since release. The DLC adds about as much content as the base game has now and is priced accordingly, and you DO need base game for it.

It's fine if you don't like their pricing policy. Or the game itself.

Lack of creativity, morally corrupt? You have no idea what you talk about.

This game has been on my wishlist since it was released. It’s now on my BLACKLIST (games never to be bought). Just greed, greed and greed. No discount ever, though far superior games have been sold at a discount for decades. And then they release a DLC after 8 years to make even more money out of it. Just f*ck them, honestly. I am so sick of these companies holding sway in what is supposed to be a fun pastime - for kids as well as adults.
I swear that spaceship looks borderline HR Giger
Hmm . A $35 expansion ?

Well, I haven’t played the game yet (or Kingmaker, although I have purchased both here) but I was under the impression that they are like Baldur’s Gate ? In fact, if they’re not, then I may regret buying them….

But it’s the “business model” that I object to. Don’t string out the completion of a game over ten years or so …. it’s just such an awful precedent. Especially when the games being released in this way are not all that good anyway.

P.S. Factorio is not a “genre-creating” game. That sounds like an enormous exaggeration.
