Looked marginal and the more I saw the more I liked it. I'm keeping an eye on this.

if I remember correctly, the title is inspired by drod (the best puzzle game series in the universe), but the roguelike tag is an instant turn-off. (as is the steam levels of uselessness in gog's tag system. genre: roguelike, tags: roguelike, roguelite.)

Wishlisted, and hoping we see more of Nicalis’ back catalog like 1001 Spikes, Castle in the Darkness, and Code of Princess EX. :)

Looks like it's heavily inspired by DROD, but I'd have to play a demo to see how close it really is.

Yeah I hope they show up too. Maybe the devs just don't have interest though, assuming Nicalis can't force them to release here.

Thanks for letting us know! Although I think issues like these should be handled by judges, attorneys and injured party, not the customers. So I'll buy the game anyway

I think so, even if this is clearly its own thing.

In theory yes, in practice a lot of the ugly stuff tends to be extremely difficult to prove or morally-bankrupt-but-no-explicitly-illegal.

Setting that aside, an attitude of "we won't bother to publish a patch if your game did not make enough so far" seems extremely worrisome from a consumer perspective.

Yeah, it's a tricky one when it's a publisher. The options are buy it or don't buy it because it's not like we can buy it from a different publisher. Doesn't feel fair to punish a developer for the crappy actions of their crappy publisher.

Looking at the game description this sentence stood out at me:
"All you need to do is jab every enemy with your giant spear to unlock the next door... but sometimes you can’t even turn to face them, because the hallways are too narrow and the spear is too long."

I remember reading something about the early development of the classic puzzle game DROD, in which one of the devs said they had indeed considered the idea of stopping you from moving your sword into a wall but ultimately decided to not have that be a requirement.

So if CROD is DROD with that extra rule attached (and maybe some others), sure I'll give it a try. Wishlisted for now.
