Hopefully this also means that re-releases of the classic Comanche's are still happening one of these days.

It would be awesome!!
But I'm afraid in today's marketing it's against building focus on new release... :(
Seeing as this was designed to be a multiplayer game from the start, I'm not getting my hopes up.
I'm just gonna leave this here... target destroyed!

I don't know, THQ Nordic doesn't seem that ignorant that they wouldn't see the positives about re-releasing the original series. Maybe not prior to the release of the new one (although it could help build anticipation for Comanche 2021) but sometime after.
We'll see.

Cautiously optimistic about this, from the description:
"Singleplayer
You wanted it, you’ll get it! Due to popular demand Comanche will include an evolving singleplayer mode. Use your skills to fight yourself through an explosive conflict, which will extend on a global scale during Early Access (more to come)."

I really enjoyed Comanche 3 however in 2021 it's a bit weird to see a new game come out for it based on a helicopter program that was cancelled. Why not make one based on the Apache that is still in use?
Why isn't it the original from 1992 or this new game by Novalogic?

We did it. Let's get home :)

Funny, the RAH-66 Comanche project has been canned by the US ARMY since 2004 and new Comanche games are still being made.

Mine as well make games about this gem as well.
Does someone know if this game is closer to being a simulation or shooter? The old Comanche games were closer to the latter, if I recall correctly.

Well World War II has ended as well and a lot of games have and probably will be made about it still... :-P

I still have fond memories about Comanche Maximum Overkill. I hope it shows up on GOG one day.

Well it's a soon to be obsolete machine to be honest. Smaller more nimble and stealthier hard to to hit drones are replacing attack helicopters in many fronts and proven to be very effective both in the battlefield and cost wise. Recent war in 2020 shows that drone is king.

To be honest I believe that attack chopper technology was a money drain endeavour. Army need choppers that can carry both troopers and also well armed for defense. Left the attack manouvers for the new little guys.
Will it work with XInput controllers?
I played it in the 90s. As a poor kid (yeah with a computer, I'm not going to elaborate on that), I played anything I could get my hands on. Nowadays: not for me - retro flight sim / action fans, enjoy!
