Tarhiel: Looks interesting :)

I don´t know how much the beat´em up mechanic will hold, and if it won´t be frustrating, but definitely interested.
To the wishlist it goes :)
You have three difficulties to chose from and on the easiest you can even skip the fights if you should prefer point and click only. Also don't forget that there's a cool interrogation system integrated as well and then there is the (otional) HOG element the dev already used in Demetrios in that you can search for ads which in return will provide you additional hints if needed. So the game has an inbuild hint system but you have to "work" for the hints so it does not feel like cheating. I loved this feature already in Demetrios and I am glad that he used such a feature again in Brok.

Thanks, this definitely clears things for me - and I like the interactive hint system you described!
I had no idea this is the same developer who did Demetrios, definitely gonna buy now :)
Nice, like in Inherit the Earth in regards to mutant animals taking over after humans - but with a modern setting. I played the demo and was stuck at the postal puzzle - that become frustrating and I felt like I didn't recieve input to understand what I was doing good or wrong - and the body scan. I wasn't impressed with the fighting system, I would have preferred more something like IJ&tFoA, but I probably should have picked a controller instead than attempting it with a mouse and then discover I also had to use the kb. I did not like having to restart the conversation with the robot everytime I lost the fight with the tribots. I think I might be in the number of those playing it as a simple point and click game. As someone who plays adventure games in a language that I'm still acquiring (mostly German) I liked that I had all the time to read dialogue lines before advancing them, even though the language used is generally simple.
Appreciation to the dev for showing up here on GOG.

COWCATGames:
I knew that this game was made by the same developer of Demetrios after just 3 or 4 screenshots. The speech balloons look exactly the same and the cartoon visuals with very thick lines confirmed it for me. BTW, I think this aesthetic fits Brok perfectly while (for me) it didn't totally click with Demetrios.

While Demetrios was a nice adventure game there were two things I didn't really like about it: the protagonist was unnecessarily obnoxious, and there was too much toilet humor. (A few toilet jokes here and there are okay but they become stale fast.) Still, I was satisfied that I got my money's worth. Despite its flaws I enjoyed Demetrios and saw potential in your storytelling and puzzle designs.

Brok however appears to be a much better game where Demetrios had flaws. The protagonist looks someone much easier to empathize with and the humor... well, I didn't see much of it in the trailer, but it appears a more mature and rounded game so I believe the humor will follow. I will play the demo later to confirm.

Mixing adventure with a beat-em-up is a nice idea. I'm curious to see if it was well done. Oh and I really loved the idea of picking which clues you want to combine to reach a conclusion and proceed in your investigation. That is really innovative.

You picked my interest. I definitely want to play this.

In case you are stuck you can always get some hints via the inbuilt hint system. It is not an actual waklkthrough it tries to gently nudge you in the correct direction.

Yes, that is a problem with it being a hybrid. If you only want to use the mouse (like we adventure players are used to play our games) you canb only do simple punches because a mouse (usually) does not have as many buttons. So the moment you want to do more complicated fighting you will need additional keys and therefore you will have to use the keaboard as well. Ar least it is possible to rebind every single key so I ended up playing it a bit like I played a FPS with one hand on the mouse and the other on kb ... okay, tbh ... I only used mouse and the moment I realized a fight would start I also used my other hand :)

Agreed. A checkpoint should never be BEFORE a conversation. As a workaround you can fast forward such scenes by pressing space iirc.

Before this was officially released I had the opportunity to proofread the German translation and I have to say it really is one of the better indie translations I witnessed recently. So kudos to the dev that he hired some people to translate the game that actually know how to do their job.

Not sure which one you're referring to but I made sure long dialogue is not repeated if you lose a fight.
Also yes, you can skip already seen dialogue in 0.5 sec by pressing SPACE :p

Definitely more depth to the characters, and you'll notice it especially in later chapters. Even the humor is vastly different.
I learnt my lesson!

Thanks, now I know for when I'll play the full game :) it wasn't long but fighting with the mouse was hard and I kept failing.
