If you like classic adventure games and want to witness a comedic take on a cyberpunk genre, then this is a title for you. Born Punk from Insert Disk 22 is coming soon on GOG.COM. Set on Bornholm A.D. 2155, the game tells a story of the three main characters - a former combat hacker, a corporate CEO, and a gangsta-rapping android - possessed by mysterious, otherworldly entities.
I follow the development on Twitter and I have to say this looks like a very promising cyberpunk adventure game.
I am glad to see it coming here as I waited for that.
This is right up my alley; it reminds me of Technobabylon. The only thing i'm not sure is the "humorous undertone" they say it has... Will wait and see about that.
This looks very interesting. Happy to see more adventure games coming here!
Every female video game character has the same hairstyle these days.

Same here... Cyberpunk is usually dripping with irony and sarcasm since the world pretty grim and bitter. A too goofy humour will probably destroy any "punk" vibe. We'll wait and see.
I'd rather play a game if it was called Porn Bunk, but that's just me.

Maybe that hairstyle is considered female-empowering or something

Not sure, they all look look like bad Fortnite/PUBG characters.
Not sure if pirate-laser-eyes-cat is not too much for me.
ON THE RAGNAROCKS... Anacronox?

Heya! Developer of Born Punk here.

Thank you!

It's definitely going to be far less dark than 'normal' cyberpunk. We're aware that that's going to disappoint a part of the cyberpunk fan-base. It was important for me to advertise that we're departing from some of the cyberpunk tropes though, so that potential buyers know what they're getting into. There's still a good amount of corporate oppression, AI shenanigans, cyberspace threats and bionic implants happening; it's just not grimdark.

Thanks a lot!

"Every female video game character has the same hairstyle these days."

Two of our three main characters are female, and I'm proud to say only one of them fits the hair-style trope. :P Eevi only has this haircut because the computer in her head protrudes from her skull. Our other female main, Mariposa, has hair on both sides, wears a nice suit, and doesn't even have a motorbike.

See my reply above, regarding how true Born Punk is to the cyberpunk genre. I do think it's up to interpretation what the 'punk' vibe in Cyberpunk actually means. I think the genre leaves room for more lighthearted approaches. When I look back to how we used to play Shadowrun (the pen-and-paper-version), there certainly was a LOT of goofiness involved. Maybe that was just us; as you say, we'll see.

"I'd rather play a game if it was called Porn Bunk, but that's just me."

That's the sequel.

"Maybe that hairstyle is considered female-empowering or something"

Nah, no political statements intended.

"Not sure, they all look look like bad Fortnite/PUBG characters."

Couldn't you have just insulted my mom instead? THAT'S TOO FAR, MAN! TOO FAR!
Okay, it's not too far.
Still hurts.
Come on.
Fortnite.
Ouch.
:(

"Not sure if pirate-laser-eyes-cat is not too much for me."

We can attach some shark fins if you like.

"ON THE RAGNAROCKS... Anacronox?"

Just googled the game, but didn't find any Ragnarocks reference. I may be a bit slow in the head though.
The first thing that jumped out at me was Bornholm! I have fond memories of that little island, I stayed there for a while once and took part in a 100km skating race. I remember laughing at the Swedes swimming at the beach when it was only 18 degrees (that's Celsius). Funny to think of it becoming a major metropolis.

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Forums and commenting on our comments. And also for selling your game DRM-free on GOG. Your game is already on my Wishlist as I love all things Cyberpunk.

Please, inform the GOG staff (if you haven't already) that you're the game's developer, so that they can give you a special "dev" tag for the Forum.

Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous to assume that Bornholm would become a major player in global politics like it is in our game. I tried to construct Bornholm's future history in a way that hopefully doesn't break everyone's suspension of disbelief to a thousand pieces though.

Obrigado! I haven't contacted them about that yet, shall do so. Thanks for the tip. :)
