Now, we have something for our dear retro fans, going back straight from the 2000s – Boiling Point: Road to Hell is coming soon on GOG!

Originally launched in 2005, Boiling Point: Road to Hell has made a return. Take a trip down memory lane to explore this early trailblazer in the open-world roleplaying FPS genre. The story follows Saul Myers, a seasoned veteran of the French Foreign Legion. When he learns that his daughter has been abducted in the fictional South American nation of Realia, Saul embarks on a daring rescue mission.

Saul's journey unfolds in the Realian Valley, a diverse landscape comprising lush tropical jungles, rural farms, quaint villages, and opulent estates. As he traverses this terrain, Saul must confront a series of perilous situations involving corrupt politicians and criminal organizations, all in his relentless pursuit to discover his daughter's whereabouts.

Soon on GOG!
Yay, the good old Jaguar-Instakill-Game. I have such fond memories...
was just thinking about this game the other week, watched some gameplay, and now (well, 'soon') here it is. if only my manifestation powers worked on other games I've thought a lot more about over the years. though even codemasters is in ea's hands now (only for racing purposes), so no hope for psycho pinball, but there's plenty of other stuff that shouldn't be hard/expensive to get, some are even on steam (a single carmen sandiego, cops 2170, etc.).
Never played it, but screenshots I saw in magazines back in the day look somewhat more impressive in my memory. Also, I remember being shocked by system requirements because IIRC it was one of the first games recommending 512 MB RAM.
I still have this on disk. I always wanted to re-play it because I never finished it. I got side tracked going stuff like running guns for people and completely forgot I was supposed to be looking for my daughter. Worst dad ever.
The most-voted entry has almost 1,100 votes, so I'm glad to see the game show up. :) I wonder what the legal situation was before Ziggurat got the publishing rights.

Ziggurat seems to be the saviour of several old games which I thought we would never see (legally) live again.
I like the guys more and more.

Agreed. Ziggurat are ok in my book.
Ahh, neat! I tried that game some years ago and it was pretty decent. Wouldn't mind picking it up here.

And that said, I wouldn't mind picking up the sequel/prequel 'White Gold: War in Paradise' as another game from Deep Shadows called 'The Precursors'. There's a lot of fun games from all the way out in Russian didn't make it far into the west.
I had a feeling that I will see this game here soon. And I hope that Ziggurat has acquired rights to publish the second game as well.
Oh hell yeah ! I loved this clunky game. I used to use it as an alcoholic simulator. From 9-5 in game i'd be out doing missions and looking for my daughter but after 5 I'd hit the bar and get drunk, try to drive, and get up into all sorts of hijinks. Good times.
I like to believe Tehsnakerer may have inspired this. I hope it has audio fixes!
I've been waiting for years. Pretty jank and grindy (unless you find certain bug for infinite money) to pay bribes that are required to progress the game.

I know it's RPG, and you have start from scratch, but good lord - our character is really weak despite being veteran legionare.

Hope the other Deep Shadow's games are coming and someone managed to archive patchnotes - they were pretty hilarious!

XYCat: damn, buggy blast from the past! :o

will this re-release be improved somehow?
It won't contain pretty nasty DRM.
That's the best improvement you can get in my book.

Finally! This is one I still think about from time to time, and I recently talked about it to a friend not too long ago. It's probably as janky as I remember, but I look forward to it. Looking at the Steam page, it seems it will release on the 14th of November.

GOG.com: Coming soon: Boiling Point: Road to Hell
Nice!
On the wishlist with it.

trusteft: I hope they fixed the game. On release it was a mess. Still, even with the bugs it will be nice to have this again, DRM free.
Well, if it's version 2.0, many of the bugs should be fixed:

You know what's funny? Even if you don't install the patches, the game is probably more stable than most new AAA releases.
