Tale as old as time.

Bard's Tale IV: Barrow's Deep, is coming soon, DRM-free to GOG.com.
More than 100 years later, evil is back, as it tends to do. Pick one of four available classes (yes, you don't have to be a bard) and before you know it you'll be crawling through cavernous dungeons or the legendary city of Skara Brae, solving puzzles, bopping beasties in a turn-based fashion and having a grand ol' time. Along with your party and your shiny gear, of course.

Alexim: It's a shame that as far as I know the first The Bard's Tale has yet to be upgraded to the latest version on GOG. Maybe for the occasion they will update it, otherwise I don't see why buy a sequel that could be abandoned as well.

shmerl: There is something going on with it. I'd say it's weird and not like regular inXile.
Mmmh... "business-related reasons" sounds like a vague excuse for a simple update, we'll see...
Being turn-based has nothing to do with the graphics processing requirements - see BattleTech, XCOM etc.
UE scales very well with hardware, so chances are most people will be able to play the game just at lower details/less fancy settings on weaker cards.

amok: "minimum requirements" is the setup with lowest spec the developers have tested it on. it does not mean it can not run on weaker setups, but if you buy it then you are on your own. the devs can not guarantee how well it will run, as they do not have the same gear to test it on. a warning, basically.
They have an Intel Processor? Like... 90% of all sold PCs? Then just plug that VGA cable into the plug which is on the motherboard. There. I solved dev problems. Where is my money?

All I saw about BATTLETECH - you have to write it like you shout it do you.. BATTLETECH (ouch my ears) is that it has no business riling up high end graphics cards so much considering how it looks. So... sure.. that that as new gold standard on how graphics should be utilized.

Bought the original for first the Atari, then Amiga and finally PC (In glorious EGA). But time has moved on; there's no excuse for such a clunky interface now. One for when it gets to 95% off.

fortune_p_dawg: sooo.... isn't the bard's tale game (the action rpg one) that is currently sold here NOT up to date? i'd love to say i'm getting this day one, but won't continue to buy from a dev who doesn't keep their software up to date. gog, have you tried contacting them about this? what's their deal?
Question about that though...

Isn't the "Remastered & Resnarked" edition just achievements and trading cards?

As far as I know it's just Steam garbage, and for GOG it would just be Galaxy garbage, I don't think anything worth updating was actually updated on Steam or is left not updated here.
Looks interesting. ^_^

takezodunmer2005: Looks like it's not an arpg, but a turn based one...But still, will snag it nonetheless!

ChrisGamer300: I was actually refering to the 2005 spin off not the main series Bard's Tale, I disliked the 2005 game personally and meant that in the worst scenario atleast it won't turn out like it and instead be more similar to the older installments.
My mistake, I misread your post!

Have you played the original trilogy, by any chance?

I haven't played BattleTech, but XCOM? I assume you are referring to the bastard child that was released a few years ago and not the original 90s one. Where did you see high graphical requirements in that? I can play the game in my Windows 8.1 tablet. 2GB of RAM, Dual Core CPU, Radeon HD 2600 XT. These are high requirements for you? They were not high when the game was released back in 2013-4 or something.

I just checked, even Battletech has a GTX 560 as minimum. So...what are you talking about? Requiring a GTX 970 for this game is just crazy. Either lazy optimization, or lazy market research.

I will wait for reviews (user reviews, obviously, I don't trust anyone else) for this one, as I'm unsure as to what to expect.
Also, the system requirements seem really overkill.

No. It also adds Italian language support and fixes crashes that occur with 64 bit OS's.

aluinie: Saw this on kickstarter and paid some cash hopefully can get a gog key and not a steam key for it.
Have they sent out any surveys yet?

One of their aims in doing BT4 was graphical fidelity. Fargo stated that as BT 1-3 strived to be graphically better than the competition, BT4 would do the same, hence the requirements for better hardware.

I've watched a couple of beta vids of it, and in them the players have said that the game runs fine on lower HW than recommended though, so like always, the minimum requirments aren't necessarily gospel.
